ihatejoefitz
radioshack only had 10watt resistors. anybody know a good place to get the 25watt? or does anybody have any advice to give about using a 280z resistor pack?

zcarnut
http://www.digikey.com Look under RESISTORS, POWER.
Tony D
mouser also has them. I believe I posted a link at ZC.C some time ago. They are cheap. Frys electronics also carries them, nice aluminum bodies with fins and terminals on the end making for a nice installation on the back of a finned extrusion, or even a plate of 1/4" thick aluminum... The STOCK 81 280ZX Resistor pack also works VERY well. I used that myself, since it was easy to adapt and the wires were plenty long for my application. mobythevan
There are two local electronic shops in Colorado Springs that carry them, just FYI for anybody that lives around here. I think Centennial and OEM are the correct names of the two stores.
mario_82_ZXT
The ones you showed me on ZC.C were not carried by Fry's in Phoenix. They only had the cement ones with no heatsink. (They seemed to be stocked low in this department, well at least when I went there) I am using the stock resistor pack from an early Z (thanks to 1 Fast Z). It was easy to wire in, and it works! Someone on here or ZC.C is using pulse width modulation, and I think he posted his setting for stock injectors. Mario
midnightzxt
this is a little off topic, but what wattage should the pullup resistor be? I have 1K 1W,2W,5W and 25W
mobythevan
pullup is usually 1/8 watt or 1/4 watt P=IV I=V/R=14volts/1k ohms=.014 amps .014 amps*14 volts=.196 watts calculation is in between 1/8 watt and 1/4 watt for a 1k pullup to 14 volts.
