Trade a "DET" swapped 240SX for my Z28?

As some of you know, I would like to get something besides my Z28 for a driver. I cam across a '92 240SX fastback that has the swap completed and appears to be a nice car. It's on ebay and I emailed him and asked if he'd trade. He seems interested. He said he is selling because he "Wants a 5.0 or something". Well, unless just has to have a 5.0, my car will eat most modified 5.0's. I'm just looking for something differant than what I've been driving for the last 7 years. It doesn't need to be faster. I also want to try alittle drifting. Looked like fun the last time I got to spectate. He said it runs 13.5 in the quarter, my Z28 runs 12's. Like I said, I don't care too much about that anymore. What do you guys think? I don't think I could duplicate the car with what I could sell my Z28 for.

Treat the deal like any other used car deal. Check out the 240SX for the normal stuff (rust, damage, salvage title, etc.) Look at the quality of the swap (driveline angles, parts used, fab quality) and make your decision then.

Be aware of the tricks your mind will play on you...

You'll find enough things wrong with the 240SX after 6 months of ownership that you'll feel like you got the worse end of the trade. Plus, you'll soon forget the problems you have with the Z28 and tend to exaggerate its good qualities now that its gone.

Not my friend. I just saw it on Ebay and inquired. Yeah, I was wondering about the engine pics also. The link to other pics doesn't work for me. I always play devils advocate with myself on things like this. I try to educate myself as much as possible before making decisions. If it's not exactly what I want or as he describes, I always am ready to turn away from a deal. I did just that a few months ago. I was looking at a '67 Camaro drag car. He described as a ready to go race car that could be put back on the street. When I went and looked at it, it had rust in the quarters and the wiring harness was butchered beyond recognition. I returned home with an empty trailer and a cashiers check for $13k to re-deposit into my account. These things happen.

Cool, linked worked after it was posted here. Thanks! Still no pics of the swap, this guy might be a putz. If the car IS what he says it is, I'll trade him. If not, I come back home. It's not like my car is a POS or anything, I just want a different car.
