Guest ZDreamin
hey all my friend told me about this stuff and it seems crazy, the marvel mystery oil people recomend using their stuff in both the the gas tank as a fuel addative and also into the crankcase as an oil addative, this seems crazy, any body know what this dual-purpose stuff is or ever used, this is purely a question out of my own curosity. have a god night ladies and gentlemen
spotfitz
Works great in SU's aswell!
labrat
I think it's supposed to act as an upper cylinder lube when put into your gas to lube intake valves. In the crankcase, it's supposed to clean varnish off of lifters and stuff. All i know for sure is that it works great when used to oil air tools. Guest Anonymous
Yeah, its been around a hundred years probably haha. Its as they say supposedly a wonder cure for things like sticky lifters and stuff. Its actually a decent lubricant for oiling things with, but I wouldn't put it in the fuel injection system on more modern cars unless it says its O2 sensor safe which I doubt it is. Thats about all I know about it, I guess if I knew more though, it wouldn't be a mystery huh? Regards, Lone
denny411
The stuff is great for older engines with alot of carbon buildup, and sludged up crankcase. It will free up sticky lifters, loosen carboned up rings, and help to clean the fuel and intake system. It also smells good For transmissions that shift "slugishly" try a pint of Berrymans B12 carb cleaner.
Guest greimann
MMO is a detergent-dispersant additive that can clean carbonaceous residues from engine internals. It can boost the d-d components already in your engine oils and if used in the fuel, can clean deposits from valves. Premium fuel also conatins higher levels of detergent additives, so if you have been runnning that, MMO is probably unnecessary in the fuel. The best defense is a good offense, and using synthetic oils that have a higher oxidation resistance than conventional oil is the best defense against deposits. Mikelly
Had a motor in a 73 Celica that was in pretty bad shape...been sitting for two years... I filled the tops of the cylinders with the stuff, until it ran out of the spark plug holes, and then let it sit for two days... I went back and took a breaker bar and freed up the stuck rings... We fired the motor up and the compression was above 150 on all four cylinders... and I ran that motor back and fourth to high school and college for about 16 months before the Timing Chain finally let go! Crazy stuff, and I've had guys call me a liar because of that story, but it is true, and I wouldn't have thought to use the stuff had it not been for my dad! Guest Perry
If any of you do radio control stuff I used to work in a hobby shop and discovered that "After run oil" which you pay about a dollar per ounce for is actually MMO which you can get a giant can of from Wal-mart for a few bucks. Works great at keeping rust out of the little nitro engines. Perry
