Here's my project, figured I would post some pictures and a built sheet. Get some of you guys ideas on the project. One member up here is helping me understand more on twin turbocharging this carbed motor. I plan on TTing this motor come the next few months hopefully, if time allows it. I am a local Contractor, so building takes up most of my time. But anyways here's the build sheet and some pictures. Thanks again for a great site. Blake

The original car was Twin turbocharged. Therefore it has the bigger rotors, options, and better rear gear ration and gear box I wanted. Not that the V8 is Twin Turbocharged. I am building a 350 with a 8.5 to 1 comp ratio for theTT setup I plan on running come next summer which will probally put somewhere around 980rwhp to the ground. Since we are copying a setup that is already producing that HP.

Why does it matter what gear box(I assume you mean tranny?) it had? The 350 will not bolt up to it and if you made an adapter for it, it wouldnt hold up to the abuse of a 350/382TT?

Hmmm gearbox(rearend). Never heard of a transmission being called a gearbox here in the US. The reason it matters what gear box (rearend ) it has is because the TTZX had a 3.27 or 3.73 rear gear opposed to the NA 300ZX's 4.08 which would make my crusing rpm's out of this world. Do you understand now?

hmmm...lol....whenever I hear "gear box" I think of tranny, and when I hear "gears" I think of the rear end. Anyways, looks like a killer build...keep us updated

Same here. Never heard the rear end called a gear box :twak: .

Hmm, this reminds we why I don't post here often. More smartass remarks than anything. Maybe it's because I have been around higher end cars my life. But corvettes, porsche, lambo, pretty much any car without a ring and pinion type hoghead rearend were called gearboxes. If I had of know ya'll panties were gonna get in such a wad about it, I would have never bothered posting anything.

Not trying to get in a flame fest here, but I don't think that anyone was trying to pick on you or what you said, just a simple mis-understanding of the terms used. If a guy says he's going to rebuild/upgrade the rear end of his car...is he doing the differential, or bushings/shocks, springs etc. Its easy to mis-interpret what someone was saying. Now with all the cleared up...lets move on.

Wow, did you ever take that the wrong way. Just giving you a little crap, nothing serious. All is good. :2thumbs:

Addressing a couple of technical comments first... I'd bet dollars to donuts you're full of CRAP on the whole "hanging around higher end cars like lambos corvettes and porsches" :lmao: They're NOT EVER called gear boxes... Diffs, Ring and Pinions, Rear ends, but NEVER gear boxes... A gear box, when refering to ring an pinions is something to store your selection of GEARS in. All the circletrack and quarter mile vendors carry them and they are usually plastic boxes. Second, if you were hanging around those cars, my guess is you'd know quite a bit more than has been displayed in the couple of posts you posted. If you want to impress us around here, leave your attitude at home and bring in some real technical knowledge... I don't see much more than hard to read pipe dreams in your project planning... Is it a chevy swap or a Nissan TT 300ZX you're gonna mod? Is it the rear diff or the tranny your thinking about keeping? Are you gonna squeeze a high compression V8 with twin turbos??? Maybe you should have taken the time to structure your sentances better, rather than follow my BUddy George Bush and butcher this thread from the get-go with poor grammer and english... For me to point that out says something... Read a few more of my posts and you'll see, it's hard for this spade to call you out on that one! :lmao:

Now on to being an administrator....

AbsolutePower, Here's YOUR ONE warning...and it is VERY PUBLIC! :twak: You might want to Read our rules... You've copped attitudes in TWO threads and you're just what oh a couple of DAYS into being an active member here? Did you suffer a head injury? Do you not SEE how we conduct ourselves here? :lmao: Or is this some kind of record you're trying to achieve?

If you'd like to stay and play, Get your attitude checked at the door. If not, See ya... :fmad: We don't want, or need, and certainly do NOT TOLERATE the kind of behavior you've displayed here in TWO threads within 24 hours. One more and you're out of here... You caught me on a VERY GOOD day, or I'd have ban'ed your azz on the first one...

I'm done.
