mobythevan
Matt Nelson from Baton Rouge came and bought it today. He is one crazy guy , driving a car I built 1500 miles back to LA, heh heh. I hope the trip back goes good. Now he can whip on some of you LA guys down there . I had a lot of fun with that car and hate to see it go, but I'll head out to the garage and get to work on the next one after the court BS is over with. I turned the boost down to 12psi to be safe when he gets back to sea level, then he can turn it up to whatever. I was running 15psi here, but was a little scared to send him back down to sea level with that and the stock head gasket. Farewell to my first and fastest z car. RB26powered74zcar
Do you have any pics of that Z online anywhere? I'd like to see what a close neihbor is out looking for trouble in..... I'm just a stones throw from Baton Rouge.
Forrest
And we hope to see you soon Joel! We'll have a few more turbo cars running around BR soon! Moby, I hope everything goes well. Little did I know Nelson would actually follow up on my suggestion and go get your car. What time did he leave?
Okimoto
Well, you might have to say goodbye to the fastest hybrid z you've owned... but you can say hello to one of the more famous hybrid z you could own: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/car/88300862.html "Featured in the Jim Carey movie Bruce Almighty, this Datsun 280-z was modified with a Chevy 350 V-8 engine. It includes headers, an electronic cooling fan, an aluminum radiator, and a hurst ratchet shifter." I thought they wrecked it in the movie though... but it could be just me. pallnet
I can't wait to take a ride over to check it out after he get's back and settled. Joel, I would like to meet you when you go out there to BR. I go to our meets in BR every now and then (1 good hour from me). Give me a heads up if you go out there. mobythevan
He left out of here at about 4 pm The car needs a lot of little things to finish it up, but it is a good start for him, and at least he'll have megasuirt and wideband already in place. Now if he can get wider tires, coils overs, disc brakes and a paint job he will have one hell of a 240z. BTW, I told him he could not remove the JSK fuel rail and replace it with a Pallnet one....just kidding

Forrest
If Nelson has been on the road 9.5 hours, he might have covered about 2/3 of the distance to his pit stop in AR... Moby, did he have a cell phone with him? I told him to go buy a 50$ walmart phone but I don't know whether or not he had a chance...tha'ts a long trip! but wow theres alot of la guys here.. im about 6 or so hours away from ya guys but i dont mind the drive. Haha, we can't compete with the CA guys, but maybe per capita... at least we are tight-knit. Mike, you should come to one of our dealership meetings sometime. We have several cars worth note (even besides our handful of turbo swap and v8 swap guys) - one of our guys has a mint condition 78 with 27k miles on it (still smells new). It's 100% stock and 99.99% flawless. And our chapt president from Lafayette, besides his show winning 77 280, has a KA swapped 510 wagon, and a mint datsun roadster - he usually tries to bring them all. mobythevan
He didn't get a cell phone, but I got a message from him this morning that he made it home? Maybe he is in Arkansas. Sounds like it is going good so far.

mobythevan
Its not much to look at, but its got it were it counts. Its a good 240 in terms of little rust for him. I hope to see pics of it with nice wheels and a paint job one of these days.
