24OZ
Looks amazing Pete. You can see the difference is night and day over the stock unit. Beautiful piece.
KTM-EXC
Do you sell those down pipes? I will buy it right now, I am desperate! I just realized that those are the ones on MSA. Those look great, I am not saying anything bad but some one had said there was a defect with those?? Is there any truth to that? Thanks
Guest Pete Z Racing
The down pipe fits and works great, the above picture is for one without the O2 bung. Yes I sent out the first two with the flange welded on upside-down.. I felt like a total moron, just another day at the office. Currently the down pipes are on the MSA site http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=15-6037-8-9&Category_Code=PEC20 Drop me a note @ petezracing@yahoo.com and I keep you informed on price and supply. zeiss150
Hey pete what is the CR of that monster 3.1 turbo that you built? also does that down tube have a place for the O2 sen. Rock on Z people
Guest Pete Z Racing
The Cr is 8.5:1, yes on the O2 sensor bung. Picture above does not have it but they come with it. See site below for a little more info/pictures. <http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2116389> Pete 366 H.P. 418 Torque inline 6 Petezracing@yahoo.com

HeatRaveR
I heard aftermarket downpipes were a tight fit on 280ZX's with the B/W tranny. Will this fit ok?
Guest Pete Z Racing
HeatRaveR, Since I have not had my coffee yet? What is a B/W tranny? When we designed the downpipe we tried it on 240Z,280Z/ZX with automatic and standard and transmissions. EZ-E
I can tell you now just from looking at that DP there is no way it will work on a ZX. Even at 2.5 inches I find it hard to believe it will fit. In the ZX there is hardly any room at all to work with. If it does I would be amazed! Sparks280zt
The above DP is not the one he sells to MSA, any BW means borg warner t5 tranny
Guest Pete Z Racing
T5 yes I understand the B/W now. We fit the D/P on a ZX. If anyone has a ZX with a T5 and they want to try fitting my D/P to it I will sell one for less as a test fit piece. jgkurz
The downpipe looks like a well made piece. Can you make one in 3" for 280z with a 5spd?
Guest Pete Z Racing
John, I do not have it in 3" for the stock turbo. The stock turbo has a 1 5/8" outlet hole so 2.5" is plenty for flow. But 3" is cool. I could make some if there is a demand. Pete Do you have a link to your car?

24OZ
That is a great thread and explains very well how a 3" DP is overkill for use with a stock T3 turbo.
