Guest ON3GO
Well i started doing some work to the S12. the SR20DET is on the stand right now all ready to be put in the S12 200sx. This ISNT a direct bolt on but its not very hard. dirveshaft had to be shortened, S13 modded tranny mount, and S13 engine mounts is really all thats needed, atleast the big big stuff. Running a KA24DE radiator, and trying to figure out the radiator hoses but thats no biggie. today i took apart the whole front end and started cutting, drilling and etc. got the FMIC mounted with the custom mounts i made and started figuring out the piping. shouldnt be very hard but not gonna be the easiest i ever done. I also cut the front bumper to get more air to the intercooler and tried to make it the best i could with just a die grinder. will do a better job later. what ya think? before... now.. also.. wanted to share this with you guys.. the Celica Supra Project thats getting a nicely worked 7M-GTE.. this car was bought for sooooo cheap and its gonna fly. the interior looks like brand new! not a rip or anything. getting a auto to manual swap, 7M-GTE with upgrades out the wazoo, MSnS, and im hoping nitrous. gonna be tearing up the houston streets soon. also on a side note i can get this for 3K... needs some work but engine/turbos are working great, axles are shot, diff is prob shot, dash is perfect but interior needs a tad bit of work, body is great just the hood needs to be refinished and so does the rear wing. i might but i might not as i wanna do one more Z that i have planned out in my head. anyways enjoy. mike

Eric
have u cheked out club-s12.org? a few guys have done the sr swap and u can pick their brains a bit. that fmic setup isn't too bad. one of the older guys has one that sits at the bottom of the bumper cover, and is only as tall as the opening. performs great.other than the paint, it looks like it's in great shape. good luck with the project, always nice to see an s12 getting fixed up rather than crushed. Guest ON3GO
me and a buddy did the swap to get it in the car about a year or so ago. he ditched the project so i sold it to a friend who im now doing the swap for. well me and my friend are at the shop we work for. ya the car is in good shape.. the fenders were messed up so we found the silver ones in the junkyard and there in great shape. theres no rust on the car except a small small spot near the tail lights. it also has the nicer tail lights. interior is stripped and i dunno if it will stay that way or not. if you know where i can get the turbo hood please let me know! ive been on club s12 a few times, it just seems that they dont like to try anything outside the box... like you said with the fmic. the ones that have done the sr swap (which is very very very few) all do the same mods to each persons car.. nobody likes to try something new. funniest part was them telling us that we needed custom engine mounts and etc etc.. i found it funny that we used everything pretty much stock and it bolts right in.. and we moved the engine further back for better handling. the S12 is a awesome car, i hope to build another one for myself but with a turbo KA. Eric
the euro spec tail's? can u get some pics? i'd like to see them. the turbo hood is a rare find. i think it was only offered in 84 and not all turbo's had them. have u looked at the coilovers that Bartco makes? i think $610 for all 4. great deal. about the engine mounts in the car, u should post on the forum. cause i too have read that new monts need to be made. Eric
yeah, cause the ca18det was a stock option motor at one point. the MKII RSX had the ca18det.
Sparky
new rules in texas is you dont have to have one.. mike I've heard this recently as well but have yet to find anything on the TXDOT website that confirms this..Mike' date=' do you have any [i']real[/i] factual info on this, I really want to dump my front tag. Guest ON3GO
sparks... from what i was told by 3 different cops, is as long as the car is a new registery or you re-new it you dont have to have the tags. im not even tag'ed in texas so i dont care as i still have florida plates and etc. but i would like to know for the cars im building for ppl. as for the tail lights.. i dunno if there the euros or not.. i think there just the older style but the plate area looks like it can hold a euro plate.. long! heres a pic.. the motor mounts DONT need to be made or modded.. just S13 (what i used atleast) motor mounts... we mounted on the stock locations and then had to do the littlest trimming for the shifter, and a shorter driveshaft. thats it. mike
Sparky
thanks Mike, I heard the same thing as well but I heard it from a very un reliable source that heard it from another even less reliable source.
Eric
those are the stock MKI hatchback tail lights. USDM that is. MKI coupe(notchback) tails. the first pic is the USDM tails. the last pic is the AUS spec, not sure if it's j-spec aswell. http://www.club-s12.org/board/showthread.php?t=8889&page=2&pp=15 MKI euro spec hatch tails http://www.club-s12.org/board/showthread.php?t=10711 MKII tails. the same on both hatch and notch. it's my buddies car. came stock with the vg30e. mkII with the SE trim had them. he's asked me to post pics everywere i can. WARNING: 56K DEATH!! http://www.club-s12.org/board/showthread.php?t=10489 a bit more info than needed but it never hurts to know. on a side note: MKI is 84-86. MKII is 87-88. 86 can be an odd one tho. they started fazing out the MKI so some of the 86 cars have a mix between MKI and MKII, known as MK1.5. slownrusty
Awesome work Mike....looking great...that S12 is going be sweet. A 7MGTE MA60 Supra makes me wet in the pants! The MR2 next to the FD looks pretty menacing. Yasin

Guest ON3GO
no mustangs in the pics.. the mr2 is alittle blah.. but with work it will be better. upgrading the intercooler, piping, turbo next week. put a boost controller and tuned it better today. thanks for the S12 info... and ya the celica supra is gonna rock! mike

Guest ON3GO
did some work to the S12.. tranny mount is gonna be pretty simple to make i think. got the engine, tranny and driveshaft all in. the engine still will be angled more forward once the tranny goes up higher, so the tranny mount is gonna get made.. i hope to make it soon. the head still has to come off as we gotta put the cams in, and the new metal headgasket in. i started doing other little things. i made a gauge "pod" where the a/c controls were, will hold two 2 1/16 autometer gauges. the gauge custer will hold 4 gauges.. a 5inch tach and speedo, and 2 other 2 1/16 gauges.. you wont beable to see them from the passenger seat or anywhere else.. only the driver seat. so it will be like a Lexus if you ever seen how there gauges are. im painting the dash also.. gonna make it black and dark grey. the body harness is almost all done, and the intercooler piping is figured out. fmic is all mounted up, the KA24DE radiator is gonna be a pain but we got it mounted. so.. so far so good.. just waiting on money and etc to finish it up. car is gonna be a little rocket! heres some pics.. and because of this damn car i cant finish this!!!! enjoy guys.. mike
naplesZ
Any info on the Alfa? I see them over here all the time and was thinking of maybe picking one up. I don't really like the look of them that much. I have been trying to figure out what I could do look wise to make it better looking and maybe do a engine swap later down the line. I would really like to find an old alfa gt junior or something similar. There is a couple around here that's pretty nice.
