Gollum Posted October 21, 2005 Share Posted October 21, 2005 Ok, bachalor's party last night. We went to one of those indoor cart places that put you in a fire suit and such. VERY FUN!!! I loved it, especially since I won 8) There was about 5 minutes or so of practice/qualifying after wich they set you up in a bracket order by fastest lap time. I was first with my brother right next to me in 2nd. I knew he'd be my only competition. He spun out 2nd lap... Never needed assistance getting his car back around so he never lost too much time, but in total he spun out 5 times. I spun twice during the practice but didn't at all during the race. My fastest lap was in the 23.1xx range while the next fastest driver was in the 24.0xx range (my brother). I think if I go back again I could lower my time half a second or so. I spent much of the race in traffic. So here's the readout I got. I plan on going again sometime with some friends that might actaully compete with me. It's in fremont and the place is called lemans karting. PM me if you want to be notified when I go again. It's kinda expensive, but it's more fun than a full day at scandia (go karts, arcade, water buggies, ect.) and you spend less than you would for a full day at a place like that. My adrenaline was pumping the next 2 hours, and i'm moderatelly sore too. EDIT: OH yea.... they spelt my name wrong... my hand writing isn't THAT bad is it? Dang. Drax240z Posted October 22, 2005 Share Posted October 22, 2005 Best lap time is 3 seconds faster than you! I bet that's boggled your mind a bit, that's a large margin on a short track. I've done those 'events' before and they are super fun, well worth the money. I wish the closest one to me wasn't about 6 hours travel time away though! I could see taking off half a second with the same car. If my tires were griping just a little better I'd been able to go much faster. But yes, almost 3 seconds difference... it's still alot. Guest ON3GO Posted October 22, 2005 Share Posted October 22, 2005 me and my few buddys do indoor carting here in houston. im .3 off the lap record and my friend is .1.. last night they did a full endruo and even made the track bigger. a good lap time on the track last night was 40.0 to .5.. i was running 36.8 multi times and 37 flat in heavy traffic. even beat a few pro drivers who were there.. they couldnt believe a kid who doesnt do anything like this for a profession was wupping there *** .. my friend ran 36.6 but only ran in the 36's once, but he is a faster driver then me. it sure is a blast! mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I didn't have a whole lot of free laps to myself (except that string of 23 sec laps I had) so I think I could have done alot better. But all in all it was still a major blast. That's what I used to do in order to find the best racing line on the track. Currently, I go to a local indoor track where they run those 6.5hp Sodikarts. The track is fairly close to 1/4mile in length. I used to hold the track record of 26.49, been top of the month 4 times in a row, champion of their last league. The most fun I have is racing with a full crowd of regular customers. I love their expression when they see that my fastest lap is like 3 seconds faster than theirs.
