v80z
Grumpyvette I am using a Muncie M20 with a 84-88 corvette bell housing. I bought a new 85 corvette slave cylinder and got it on and working but the little datsun master just doesnt have enough. Also the slave extends into the oil filter. The one I have is a generic for a gm 350. Is there a shorter profile oil filter for a corvette? JTR recommends a tilton master and for the corvette slave it says to buy it in a 13/16" bore. Could you confirm this is the one http://www.tiltonracing.com/content.php?page=list2&id=22&m=b Also does anyone have any input for sources or sizes before I order it as I have a garage full ofparts I have bought thatare not quite the right fit. Thanks
Mikelly
That be the one... As to the slave, you may have to shorten the rod a bit. I'd run the best filter you can, and the higher the volume, the better... Shorten the slave rod if possible. If you have to run a smaller depth filter, go with one from (I think) an early 80s 350 caprice. Mike
DaleMX
I put a wilwood in mine but the Tilton looks the same. A member of the forum suggested to me that the rod from the stock might fit the new cylinder. I tried and it fit like a glove, allowing the use of the stock flange that mounts to the pedal assy. Here's that thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=96953
v80z
Shortening the rod is on the other end. It is the closed end of the slave that encroaches oon the area of the oil filter. I have a relocation kit but have not installed it yet as I havent finalized the exhaust. Just wondering if the corvette oil filter was shorter in stature to make room for the oil filter.
