big-phil
I put the timing light on #1 plug wire, unplug the throttle posittion sensor, and put a jumper wire in the plug, start the car, shine the light and it shows the timing mark. But when I move the dizzy one way or the other, the timing mark does not move at all. It just stays in the same place. Read my profile below for the motor specs. I've timed many vehicals before but never a turbo. Its driving me crazy, the mark just does not move!?!? It reads off the scale right now. Phyxius
are you using the setup from an '81 or '82-'83? The '81 had a CAS and the dizzy was empty of electronics. Timing was adjusted by playing with the cas...

Warren
Refer to the FSM, EF&EC 61, 67 & 68 (82 model FSM that is). Timing is controlled by the ECU based on inputs from various sensors. Adjustment prodecure on EF&EC 68. Give me your email address and I'll send you the section if you need it. Warren
datsunan
I have an 83 dizzy and can change my timing at the dizzy as he was describing. Warren can I get that procedure from the fsm? pdierolf@sbcglobal.net. I have been having problems with a missfire into my intake that may be timing related. Thanks Paul.
