I'll quote the game Command & Conquer (Red Alert) intro on what color I'll settle for: "Time will tell" : )

Guest Slow_Zed

Words cannot describe. what a good read this thread is.

I am just st the start of a zed build. (It arrives next week) having finished a 510 (1600 to us in Aus) as a club racer, its time to move up to a zed.

You guys have got me so motivated :) :)

Best of luck with the car, I will keep checking for more of your fantastic vids.

Thanks for all the feedback and paint suggestions! : )

I think I'm liking Gun metal more and more by the minute. Uggh. It's gonna be

one hard decision. I like bright colors, as well as dark. I want the car to stand

out from the crowd - and not. Lucky me painting isn't here yet : )

Anyway, to give you a little update: the rear fenders (type; TABCO) have been

wrapped up in a nice li'l package. Waiting to send them to the guy who is going

to hook me up with some nice custom metal flares. I only need to figure out how

wide I want to go ...

Near the end of july, the Z is heading south to fit a custom made 12 point roll

cage. I'm really looking forward to that : ) Probably going for regular steel and

not chrome moly in order to cut costs a little. There's a weight saving of 7 kg

or so according to the guy building it. I can downsize myself that much instead : )

12 point?... jeez!!!

lol i love the way you think =)

anyways, in regards to colour, here is an example of how you may want to decide what you might consider as a good colour, seeing as your car is going to be the best of the best in terms of time and effort.

when i was drawing a Z on paper the other month, i decided to colour it when i was done, and i spilled limeade (its the Lime version of Lemonade) on the paper, and it turned the paper a aqua green.

so i coloured the entire car green, and then i said "hey, that colour is ******* awesome!" (not the aqua, but the colour i picked)... so i coloured it green, added black MSA carbon flares, and put some oldschool wheels with huuuuuuuuuge dish.

and i thought to myself "that looks like an old steam locomotive from the 1930's" so i decided to add some pinstripes to the side, just very subtle, no fast and the furious superhero stuff. just a small thin golden line. and then i painted the wheels gold. and i added "Z-GTR" at the rear quarter, in a style of letter that you would see on an old train from the 30's. I later changed the lettering to RB26, or RB30, as i figured most trains have numbers instead of all letters. so it was quite fitting.

in the end i decided it was really cool because the car will pull like a train, have the moving power of a train, and probably sound like one too when in boost.

so, basically that's the theme i decided for my future Z when i get it.

your thread is an inspiration to my future project =D

so yah, back to my point. don't just pick a colour. pic a colour theme.

down the line you're gonna realize that some stuff wont fall into place because of parts that you choose that might not look right if painted one colour because of parts that re adjacent to it.

soooooooooooooooooooo... plan out more of the car, not just body panels.

my 2 cents.

I uh... figured out I was a bit too tall for the seats from Raidopower. The holes

in the back, for the seat belt, wound up somewhere along the top of my

shoulder blades. I want to keep being 6 feet tall - even if (god forbid) I

crash while wearing a 4/5/6-point harness.

So. I got some new seats. Crappy picture - yes, I know. Consider it a

paparazzi pic of the new Sparco EVO L seats chillin' in the sauna...

pic a colour theme.

Seats: Black

Dash: Carbon (black)

Console: Carbon (black)

Carpets: Black, or really dark grey

Roll cage: Um... Have to give that some thought. Either black or the color of the car. Whatever that turns out to be.

Interior panels: Originals w. draped carbon? I dunno. Otherwise black, like stock.

Engine bay: Black, probably.

Oh, you guessed it - I like black : )

Edit: ...And I wanna see that painting of yours! : )

are you on drifting.com's forum mull?

No, but I got an email about a month ago (from the guy running the forums

over there) where he asked me wether he could post the videos.

I told him, no problem. So - they're on part 4, or something now I think : )
