240Z_Master
Just got my manifold back from the coaters. It's ceramic coated.

240Z_Master
I don't want to shame my manifold and stick a stock turbo on it.
SuperKid
Hey, I just spent a few minutes looking over your site and your project, and I must say, you're doing one hell of a job! Your attention to detail and your photos are excellent. I like how you've got links to the FSM pages too. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. Kraker_Jax
Damn..... I want a HKS manifold... =[ Good stuff man, let's see some more pictures on the site, so I have more info for the next month and a half!!! I just bought my RB25 yesterday, and I'll be using your site for some good old help!!
StealthZ
Nice documentation so far! Did you ever get a chance to see how the HKS manifold positioned the turbo in relation to the factory one? I've also been looking at the HKS piece, but didn't know how well it would fit in our engine bays.

I've also been looking at the HKS piece, but didn't know how well it would fit in our engine bays. It bottom mounts the turbo, basically rotates it 90 degrees. It can be a tight fit and I will take some mock pictures today.
240Z_Master
Clearance is super duper tight between the steering shaft and the exhaust housing. I will have better pictures when I get underneath to check clearance. Looks like for now my turbo choices will be limited to stock unless I relocate the steering shaft. (Should have thought about this before I bought the manifold).
stony
I was gonna chime in earlier but forgot.... i had the same manifold on the rb26 i was originally going with on my car. it had a t04S and it hit the framerail hard and there was no way to make it fit with that manifold. May want to consider something else as this will limit your HP greatly

turbo_fb
Nice Looks like u could make a spacer that angle the turbo more towards the engine. Maybe u could fit a bigger turbo then ? How much does a manifoil like that cost?

RB S13
How silly does this look lol! didn't think it would sit so high!
stony
Well its tilted to the wrong side which may be making it look like its higher but it sure does look like your gonna have some hood clearance issues
Ed260Z
That's a real tight fit even with the stock turbo. Might be better suited to a RHD car. Why not use the stock Manifold and use a bigger turbo on that. How much PSI are you looking to put out? An internal waste gate should be good for up to 16psi. StealthZ
That's a damn shame the turbo comes so close to the steering shaft, the manifold sure looks good otherwise. I'll have to e-mail a friend of mine in Japan and see what the difference is in HP with the HKS piece vs stock manifold. He does a lot with the RB25 and the 26. stony
If you get by the steering shaft the frame rail is the next big obstacle... like i said above any decent sized turbo will hit the rail pretty hard.

I might stick out for a straight up T3.
