datsunan
What is the best place to mount a wb o2 sensor? I just purchased an lm-1 and thought I remembered reading something about them needing to be mounted further down the exhaust than the nb sensor. Can someone confirm and recomend placement? 18" sticks in my head.? I could not find placement suggestions on the MS or LM-1 sites. thanks Paul

Warren
Ok, since mine was mentioned, I'll tell ya...I have the narrow band for the SDS mounted just ahead of the tranny mount and the wide band for the LM1 mounted just after the tranny mount. Both are at about the 9:00 position, i.e. parallel to the ground. You want to go no lower than the 9:00 position to keep any condensation off of them. Water on the sensor will not only throw off the signal voltages, it'll ruin the sensor. Try to install it at least 12-18 inches FROM the turbo, to keep the heat down. You could, if you wanted to, put it anywhere in the system, as long as it doesn't get too hot. Warren
yo2001
I would like to add, the WB must face downward so the water/condensation won't build. 10-2 oclock position is good
mario_82_ZXT
Yep, they are powered. Meaning if you had no cat (maybe muffler too) it could go in the way back. Can SDS not use a WBO2? Mario
thehelix112
If you are doing the easy thing and datalogging the output of the wideband driver then you really want to minimise the lag and get it as close to the turbo as you can without it getting too hot. 18 inches sounds about right to me. I mounted mine totally vertical. Dave
datsunan
Thanks guys, thats what I thought but was not sure. Did not know about the condensation so I'm glad I asked.
