280~Master
Ok went to the junk yard to pull some relays and other things for the Z and found a Ford Escort radiator that has the right dimentions but the bottom outlet is faceing the wrong way. I pulled this radiator out with the fan shroud and fan still attached. Got home and found out that this Escort shroud will hold the 2 speed Taurus fan just perfect. What makes this such a nice find is the fan is mounted to the side of the shroud. Which is good because when installed it will clear the water pump to allow for the taurus fan mod.. The fan will sit just above the AC compressor and just right of the water pump pully. Now this is a theary for test fits by looking and holding in place on a parts car. Hopping to get this fitted by this weekend with pictures.

280~Master
Did a test fit on the radiator today and all is well and clear. This should also help with the heat on the L6 motor due to the location of the fan. Should blow most of the heat from the exhaust under the car and help cool the intake just a bit. This could lead to ? and might help out performance.
proxlamus©
wow!! cool!! What year ford escort!! I need to do this mod! I have the Frod Taurus fan right now as a pusher, not a puller
280~Master
I got mine from an 90's excort 4 door. From what I can see on the net is most of the 90's used the same fane and shroud. I will keep everyone posted with some pics real soon.

280~Master
Ok went back and now found the right years for this fan shroud and possible raiator fix. its the 91 to 02 Escort (not the ZX2!) or the Mercury Tracer 91 to 02 models that have this fan shroud. Still test fitting everything. Might even try and modify the radiator to fit the Z car.
HB280ZT
280~master Hate to bring up old threads but I am interested in whether or not you got the escort/taurus fans to work with an S30/L-series configuration? Also if you did pictures would be great. HB280ZT
MJLamberson
wait up, there unsafely slow car I learned how to drive a stick in serves a purpose... cool!
280~Master
Its a little hard to see but there is about 1/2 inch to 1" clearance all the way around. I have had it like this for 2 years and have not ran into any bumping or rubbing problems. I have the JTR radiator, 90 escort fan shroud, ford taurus 2 speed fan, 240sx lower radiator hose fan switch, Nissan relays, AC and I have not over heated once. In fact it runs cooler than I would like it to. LanceVance
280~Master, Could you possibly repost your pictures? It seems the links are dead now, and I'm considering using a similar setup on my Z. To clarify, this is on an S30 Z cars, not ZX' right?
