rustrocket
I'm looking at a painless 12 circuit harness for my 510/ls1 swap, but i also see that summit has their own kit that's quite a bit cheaper. Has anybody had any experience with either of thesE? Or both? Your input would be helpful. edit: i also just found this one on ebay, "Its a Snap" 21 circuit for $134.95. Looks decent? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universal-21Circuit-wiring-harness-Its-so-painless_W0QQitemZ4628892051QQcategoryZ10076QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
BillZ260
Just worked with the Painless kit, very easy to install, all wires are labeled about every foot or two, was simple to do. This was my first rewire and so far everything I've hooked up worked like it should.
260DET
That 'Its a Snap' kit looks good, might get one myself.
280Zone
A buddy of mine DMSV8 bought an ebay kit for about that price and we were very impressed. I would go with that if I need one.
jimzdat
I've never used the "Snap" kits, but I have used a few kits from http://www.ezwiring.com on various cars, and have been pretty happy with them. Like Painless, they use generic GM fuseblocks, have all the connectors to hook to a GM column (not so important for a Z), all wires labeled every 6 inches, etc. They also have the option of ALL wires are black (still labeled though) for those guys who want a really clean look
JustinOlson
This is a good deal on the ez mini 12circuit unit. That should be plenty for a Z. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EZ-WIRING-12-CIRCUIT-HOT-ROD-WIRING-HARNESS_W0QQitemZ4629278307QQcategoryZ42606QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
Okimoto
I didn't like the Painless kit. I installed one in BANG's Z car. It's much better to grab about 10 different color spools of wire, a pegboard, and a weekend to do it yourself. I did a basic install in my car that used 6 fuses and had everything needed to be legal for the street, except the horn. I'm in the process of tearing it out because the car is going to have to get some major work done and its easier to do it over again. Also it helps that i enjoy wiring up the z.
