1 fast z
Here is some quick shots of a MN47 cylinder head that I ported and rebuilt and installed a aftermarket cam, with checking all the wipe patterns and what not. Flow numbers were approximetly 219 on the intake at 28" of water pressure, and 156 on the exhuast.
Cruez
Nice work... I really should have ported and polished mine when I originally put mine back together..
vg30turbo240
are you going to open the exhaust up any?
Cruez
Don't think there is a lot you can do with the liners.... form what I have heard, they supposedly flow pretty good as they are..
1 fast z
What makes you think there not opened up as it is? I get about 50 percent better than stock flow with the exhuast. Remember you cant go by looks on a port . Heres a P90 graph, and I actually got more out of this maxi with the liners still in it.
madkaw
1fastz, just curious what flow ## you've got out of a early e-88. My head is at the shop now and wonder what a base line would be for a mild port and polish on a e-88. My machinist is in new territory with these heads but willing to learn. Any thing else you want to share about the e-88 would be appreciated. So far he has made custom copper berilium seats,S.S. valves-larger 280 valves, new guides. I'm having him install a stage 2 schneider kit. Not sure about C.R. yet Also, anyone cryogenically treating the so called soft cwc cams? 73ZCAR
1fastZ, Does most of the flow improvement on the exhaust come from a throat cut below the seat and a bowl blend to the runner? Mike.
