LT1 Alternator Bracket

Recommended Posts

Looks to me like it will interfere with the drivers side Datsun motor mount tower.

Like you said the picture is very fuzzy and definitely "photochopped" so it's hard to tell.

It also does not eliminate the requirement for idler pullies in place of the AC compressor and the PS pump.

I have a mid mount on my old 350 and it fits well and works well.

its made by Allen Grove. They have a low mount for the LT1 that

goes on the right side and may work $60

That might work if you don't want AC. "This bracket mounts the alternator low on the passenger side of the engine. Works well where only an alternator will be used."

I don't see any advantage to this setup. I thought the whole point in moving the alternator was to have a shorter belt with simplified routing. This system doesn't appear to deliver on either one.

The Alan Grove mount has been discussed, and the consensus seems to be that it wpn't work on a Z.
