DaveZ31turbo
So all I can find these days as far as a top mount manifold is the SSAutoCrap, and similar maybe even cheaper (if its possible?) eBay knock-offs. Any idea where I might be able to get a quality Top Mount Manifold? i wish a honest company would make quality RB stuff and kick these wannabe money hungry freaks to the curb! Careless
So all I can find these days as far as a top mount manifold is the SSAutoCrap' date=' and similar maybe even cheaper (if its possible?) eBay knock-offs. Any idea where I might be able to get a quality Top Mount Manifold? i wish a honest company would make quality RB stuff and kick these wannabe money hungry freaks to the curb![/quote'] for every money hungry company, there are atleast 50 money hungry consumers who would like to keep their cash. so it's not the company that is always the greedy person. they are, infact, doing more than one of many things: 1) making the phrase "you get what you pay for" all the more valid 2) making people realize why the more expensive ones are more costly (most of the time) 3) making parts that many people can afford in a budget build, and will perform to their needs with little modification 4) lowering the prices of more expensive similar parts, due to the fact that they are losing value. If companies didnt put a huge premium on their parts, i think people would start buying them more often and they WOULD infact, kick the cheaped out distributors to the curb. but let's be honest, even though the markup on fabbed parts like custom or pre-fabed top quality HKS or Greddy mani's are a little "high" or "exaggerated", it's their longstanding relationship with customers and quality that put them there. sooooooo, there are gonna be people who try to mimic them. Careless
i know that but my question was "Any idea where I might be able to get a quality Top Mount Manifold?" point taken. sorry bout the rant. i recently bought a log style HKS manifold for a 4agze for a friend's corolla. 250 bux shipped, just a couple 'o provinces away from here. came in, looks like new, though it was sandblasted. so you may want to look into GTR boards and the like, perhaps. I bet they wont be as cheap as 250 like the one we found, but you should get some good deals.
turbo_fb
http://www.gtr.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_skylineexhaust.htm http://www.gtr.com.au/pricelists/pricelist_skylineturbos.htm The most impressive thing about that page is that they also sell the SSautocrap manifoils for 1095 AUD. ! Hope you got a big wallet
DaveZ31turbo
i recently bought a log style HKS manifold for a 4agze for a friend's corolla. Is it an AE86 Corolla GT-S? a friend of mine is rebuilding his with a 4agze and taking the super charger off and replacing it with a turbo. Racinjitter
Dave, Hows the project comin along? I actually started to work on mine again. Most of the problems that I am coming across are in my post on here. I havent had any real snags yet though. I thought it would be much harder that it has been so far. Good luck trying to find a good quality top mount manifold. I looked forever before having a bud make one, Which He took back and is planning on making it better and more durable. Careless
thats for a toyota... but anyways i guess i found the one i will be using. its 3mm thick so it shouldnt crack. i am looking at the one from gtr.com.au. but if anyone knows of any other sources lety me know! thanks! thickness and cracking sorta dont work on the fact that it has stronger walls, most often it cracks at a weld point because there is either too much stress on the manifold or the flange and the tubes are not expanding at the same or close enough rates, due to heat cycling and exhaust temp. if one isnt expanding fast, and the other does, it will try and separate. over time you will experience this.
