RB26powered74zcar
Well, I went and did it.... Two days ago I bid on a brand new Millermatic 135 and won it for $531. I went and picked it up, but have not done anything with it but open the box and look at it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&item=220012775908&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Today, I check in on a Craftsman welder I bid on the other day just to see how high the bids were, and ended up winning it for $185. It looks to be a very nice welder for the money. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&item=190016479888&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Question.... what would you do, keep the Miller and sell the Craftsmen, or sell the Craftsmen? I'd kinda like to keep the one that cost me the least, cause I know I can turn right around and get my money back on the Miller, but I don't want to settle for the Craftsmen if its not a good welder for the kinda work I will do with it ( just body work, and very light repair stuff). Again, which would you keep, and which would you sell?? thanks in advance - joel
240zV8
Well, since the craftsmen welder has already been used, u might as well test it out and see if it handles what u need to do. Most people will say to keep the Miller, but if your not welding ALOT, theres no reason to have the more expensive welder if the cratsmen works for the occasional patch panel or mod u want. But if you plan on welding alot, keep the miller for sure.
JMortensen
There have been some posts on Craftsman welders before. Supposedly they are extra crappy.
RB26powered74zcar
I think I have made up my mind already.... I might as well keep the one I know is the best. I guess I'll just give the craftsman to a friend. I didn't do to bad on that deal though for $185. I found it online at Sears for $
Sam280Z
You won't regret keeping the miller. How are going to get the craftsman? The eBay add says he won't ship. If the miller fits the craftsman cart, you have made out like a bandit... Also, if you make over to Baton Rouge I'll let you try out my miller 135 before you decide... Sam[/quote'] The guy changed his mind about not shipping it after the first day, but never edited the auction. At this point, I wouldn't know one welder from the next (never have sparked up a bead yet), but I appreciate the offer Sam.... Bummer is, I already ordered a cart off ebay for the miller , so the craftsman kit will stay together.
