Looks like my buddy's '71 240 is selling on Ebay...

He's never had his Z on Ebay before and has owened it for about 5 years now. Unless it was the previous owner or possibly someone stole some pictures and tried to run a scam. He's had about 20 different people asking him questions about it, all over the country, and a few have come to look at the car in person, trying to buy the car before the auction ends. Yes, it will be nice when he sells it for that much. Nice to see the value of the Z is still good, even with the economy the way it is.

I had few offers for mine couple of them about 10 000$ CAN., the car is a 73, the exterior is in very good cond. but the interior look's like a crack house,

I guess it all depends on how often you see an old Z in your area.

Here in Canada, exept mine I'v only saw 2 running S30's in the past 5 years and they were a 260 and a 280.

Since I had just got the car from Peoria Illinoi, (about 32h. worth of driving forth and back) I did'nt want to sell it.

Plus, I'm not really sure they were that serious either.

240zV8... Good luck. Perhaps eBay has a special section for gross stuff:rolleyes:

Price is driven by supply and demand (obviously) whether items are sold via retail operations or auctions. Relatively rare items will find a MUCH larger market on eBay than if sold in a shop (or local car lot) and therefore fetch higher prices. Common items available in large quantities in any town will sell for much LESS via eBay due to overwhelming competition. In other words, SELL HARD-TO-FIND DESIRABLE items via eBay but BUY EASY-TO-FIND cheap items via eBay.

That said... often people do a poor job of advertising for many reasons. These auctions can suffer poor results and offer the buyer a chance for good deal. Conversely, other items are "oversold" resulting in the buyer being cheated. Of course, we all love the "Buy It Now" button on under-priced items.

He had told me last week that he was thinking of putting his Z up on Ebay and asked if i would help, i said sure, didn't hear anything more about it until i saw it up there the day he listed it. He didn't do such a good job with the auction (pics, description) but i guess it got the job done. I'll let you guys know if the seller comes through. It did hit his reserve so, as long as the money comes, it's gone.
