jimlickster
My New Engine is Complete and Running VERY well. You guys helped me with it and i really appreciate it. I have recently found a Really Cool Hood Scoop that i can use with a Tunnel Ram and really would like to have that setup. The Problem is, If i put another Carb on my Engine, would it be too much Fuel? What would the Tunnel Ram and Extra Carb do to my Performance? I was thinking of running (2) 600 CFM Edelbrocks. The Engine: 350 4 Bolt Main .060 Over Cam: 218/218 at .050 (284/284 Advertized) .458 Lift 110 Lobe Separation Crank: NEW Std/Std Nodular Steel Counterweighted Rods: NEW 5.7" H-Beam Press Fit Pistons: Flat Top Hyper (10:1) Heads: Stock 882 76cc Chambers Standard size Valves (Will Upgrade to 64cc Aluminum Soon) Pushrods: Hardened Steel Valve Springs: .600 Lift Rated Rockers: 1.6:1 Rollers Is this Overkill? Will It Affect whether i use Pump Gas or Not?

Bartman
Is it overkill...probably. I think dual quad's is more of a style issue than strict performance (at least in most installations), if it's something you like I'm sure you can make it work. Two40MuscleZ is running a tunnel ram and someone else put a system on their car recently, but I don't remember who.
grumpyvette
just some info tunnel ram intakes work most effectively on a 350 sbc in the 3500rpm-8500rpm plus band, AND REQUIRE MATCHING CAM TIMING AND COMPRESSION RATIOS, PLUS A REAR GEAR RATIO THAT ALLOWS THE ENGINE TO STAY IN THAT 3500rpm-8000 PLUS RPM BAND below that, mixture distribution, the large plenum and straight runners ram tunning tends to be counter productive, or not effective yeah it will look good ,but a good single plane intake like this http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=HLY%2D300%2D110&N=700+115&autoview=sku will usually produce better power up to about 6000rpm with far less tunning issues, general rule is youll need a 240 duration cam at .050 lift or larger and matching 10.5 or greater cpr and a minimum of 3.73 rear gears, with 4.56:1 -4.88:1 being a better match things to read http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/intake-tech-c.htm http://www.newcovenant.com/speedcrafter/calculators/intake.htm http://www.grapeaperacing.com/tech/inductionsystems.pdf http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/carburetor_shootout/index.html
HICKL
Hey Jim, first off, 600's are too much. I am running a dual quad tunnel on mine but have 2 Holley 450's. It does look cool and runs' great at wide open throttle but does take a while to get used to as it looses a ton or power/torque down low. If your motor isn't built to spin high r's you will not see the benifit of it or will blow your motor trying. My 1/4 mile times did drop with mine but it is a trade off for day to day use and expect double the tuning problems. You did not mention your drivetrain, but I would not put this in front of an auto tranny unless you have a huge stall and are doing strip only. I like mine but won't run it forever.
