Guest Mike
MAX... You're not coming through with the chick pics. This is no way to treat your HZ buddies, is it? I don't know about the other guys but I'm still here... waiting Frankly, I'm begining to feel a little annoyed:twak: What we need here is some nice girly pics to make us blush But nothing in poor taste like mixing violent imagery with babes:puke: Oh... but make sure they're not titilating enough to worry the admins:willy_nil
veritech-z
Alright Mikey, you beat me to it. I was working on a new one, just for you, but since you got all impatient I feel compelled to placate you with some old stuff. This one I started in 2000 or so, and it's been sitting like this pretty much ever since. No model for this one (or the new one I was doing), all the "good stuff" ended up in the hands of the girls in question, if you catch my drift. This one is looking pretty dated (to me, anyway). I've since gone back into it a little bit and put some more detail into the tree and so forth, but it's essentially a 7 year old drawing. veritech-z
Whos' sick... me or Max? Don't blame me, buddy, I just work here...All the bad ideas come from Texas.
Guest Mike
Yeah, Texans are bad alraight... bad-a$$, that is:flamedevi
veritech-z
Still waiting to hear back from the program, but here is some more art I've been working on in the mean time. I started a drawing thread at www.japanesenostalgiccar.com that not too many people have joined in on (just one person for now besides me...), but we were kicking around ideas for retro-styled remakes of celicas and carollas. The carolla one got squished in the scan, so it looks a little distorted.
TheNeedForZ
Hey I don't know how I missed this thread until now, but I LOVE YOUR WORK.
jknc90
im loving that celica. you've got alot of talent
veritech-z
Thanks guys! I used the Smoky Nagata Celica as a reference for the top one, and just opened up a random side view of a late model Carolla from cardomain and shortened it into a two door hatch back. Every once in awhile my scanner gets wierd and makes my pics look funny, that one looks a lot more proportional in person.
veritech-z
Finished this one today, I was feeling like doing a retro-future (Barbarella: Queen of Space/Space Ace/Heavy Metal) space babe and the ever popular tentacle monster. Did I tell you guys I've got the most boring job in the universe? I'm sure I must have mentioned it once or twice...
Lunar240z
is it boring because saturns are so reliable that no one needs parts?
veritech-z
They're pretty reliable I suppose, at least average, if not a bit better depending on the model (Relay mini vans are garbage, anything with a VTI transmission WILL end up in the shop, but most everything else is pretty good). But the problem is that I'm a satellite dealership only 5 miles from another saturn dealer that's been there longer. I'm the only one in parts, we don't deliver for wholesale, and we don't get a lot of new/used car sales either. Plus the whole industry has been pretty slow for awhile now, all my vendors are saying the same thing. I really need a career change. jknc90
sucks to here about your job being so boring. now that you mention it, it does remind me of the pictures of Smokey Nagata's celica on japanese nostalgic car. these are all really good, keep them coming lol

Yes you do, you are only wasting your time at that place. free time is good , but you don't gain much and you don't learn much.
veritech-z
You guys may not have gotten the memo (I don't remember if I put a cover sheet on my TPS report or not...) that today was Ninja day, but it was. Ninja on cheesy background day, at that. The only reason I'm still at this job is because I'm waiting to get confirmation from school. It would start in August, so it doesn't make much sense for me to find something else, go through the trouble of getting trained, and then find out I'm moving to Orlando for school after a few months. If I end up not getting accepted, I'll leave anyway, but I just want to know where I stand before I make a move.
24 oz
Those are some amazing drawings, all I can draw by hand is stick figures:icon_frow . I sure can draw stuff on autoCAD though. I really like that picture of the guy hunting though, great work. Keep posting more.
veritech-z
Alright, I got an email from the admissions department that says: "James would like to have a followup phone conversation with you regarding admissions decisions and possible scolarship opportunities..." I'm taking the scolarship part to be a positive omen on the admission decision part, what do you guys think? This call is scheduled for 11am on Friday the 27th. I'll keep you posted.
