COZY Z COLE
Using the 1980 280ZX as my example, there was a USA Calif. model, USA non - Calif. model, and a Canada model. There was 10 different models of this mix using the R-180 and 9 models using the R-200. What diff. came with these cars depended on where it was to be sold, what trans it had in it, if it was a 2+2 or GL model and if it had T-TOPS. Sparks280zt
Unless your car is a 280zx-GL, its an r180.

rdsk8ter
how do i know if its a gl lol the owner didnt know squat about it
COZY Z COLE
Do you have the ID number plate on the drivers side top of the dash. It has the car model and serial number on it. You have to look thru the winshield glass. Also in the engine compartment on the cowl top behind the battery is the car Id plate that has your car type. Guest Mike
RDSK8TER... There was recently a used VLSD in the HZ classifeds but I don't know if it's still available. There is a Power Brute CLSD group buy too. You may be able to talk Tim at Reider Racing into letting you in on the group buy price. Be sure to ask for the hybridz.com group buy price... no guarantees since the deadline passed weeks ago.

Sparks280zt
No that doesnt help, that is just telling us that its a 280zx, we already know that.
rdsk8ter
thats the only number i see on the tag by the batt again the vin is hs130202887 would a pic of the diff help? or are there any good identifiers on the diff?
vashonz
A pic of the diff is all most people need. One of the sites out there had comparison pics. If you're really lost I have an R180 and R200(now with LSD!) sitting outside.
