Well I've been reading your boards for awhile now and thought I should at least introduce myself. I've got an 03 Z33 that I absolutely love and it used to scare me first thing each morning when I punched it ( good car for someone who always runs late ) But after 3.5 years and doing some racing with it, she just doesn't have that oh crap factor. After seeing all the great things you guys have been doing, I'm pretty much deadset on a 70 240z with an RB26dett.

I'm sure I'll have some bonehead questions that are reposts eventually but I'm looking forward to starting a build with the help of the forum. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun/soul crushing frustrating nightmare ;) Hoping to start the build at the end of this year, and was wondering 2 things right off the bat. 1 any good posts/guides for finding a clean 240z (areas where they go bad, difficult parts to replace etc) 2 exactly how large a tire do you need to reign in an rb26 w/ rb25 tranny/rearend? Thanks in advance.

Take it easy,

West.

West, welcome to the forum. You didn't post your city or where you're from so it's a little hard to help there....

That said, Zhadman is selling his 240Z RB project---you may want to search for that and email him. He's already collected parts and has a good foundation. Something to think about.

Background shot of car looks southeast to me.

Very astute, yeah it is to the southeast, mind telling me how you pulled that off? Sunlight reflection on the car?

Anyway I've seen his project car for sale and will probably call. I'm moving into a new buisness/state and so I'm trying to keep a cash reserve around just in case. Though if it's still around in a few months it would definatly be an option. And by areas I meant on the car, I've heard the Cpillar for instance is prone to rusting out, if you know of any other troublespots it would be apreciated.

Thanks again,

West.

Oh Christ I thought you meant the photograph was taken FACING the south east I was like holy hell how did he figure that. Yes it was taken in destin florida. I lived there for about 13 years. I'm actually in west palm right now so I don't think that would be too bad a drive ( like 2 hrs right? ) I already popped down to miami to meet with the south florida z club so I'm definatly game for checking out some rb powered Z's ( especially for a ride or a drive :) ) got a link for info? btw thanks for the warm welcome.
