SoCal-s130
Has anyone ever done or seen someone taking the door mounted mirrors on a 280zx and mount em on the fenders?
Kennysgreen280zt
I think it would work. I had a fairlady in the shop for a while (280zx) and the mirriors looked the same just mounted out on the fenders.
CORPCRIM
I've been wanting to put my door mirros on the fenders but the only thing thats stopping me is where to put them. I know the dimensions are out there for s30's but no one seems to know where to mount them on the s130's. If anyone knows this info... please help!! SoCal-s130
I have also been waiting for dimensions. I know that Tony D has a fairlady zx and was willing to help out with the dimensions.
CalifaThugz
I have done that actually but they weren't bolted on. The little rubber gasket thingy was put on while I stuck them on there so theres a little gap. But here's pictures. Thats where they were before. Thats where they are now. Sorry if the pictures are so big... The mirrors aren't mounted where they are supposed to be though. They go more to the front. You get better visibility there. Now you don't have to twist your neck just to look to the cars behind you in the right.
CalifaThugz
Woops same car just in progress of painting... You can see a big dent on the right fender but those pictures were from a long time ago. The car is on the 2nd layer of primer now.
Poundz9oh9
Meh, I think they're a little big for the fenders, but to each their own CalifaThugz, I was stationed up at Irwin a few years ago, where were you then? I hadn't seen an S30 in the area the whole time I was there exept for the ones that I owned.
CalifaThugz
I've only been to 4 cities in California... LA my birthplace. Pomona, Fontana, and Apple valley. I've also been to Mexico. On thursday I'm going to the Irwindale speedway if thats the city where the track is located at.
Poundz9oh9
Ha, Pomona (Born there), Fontana (lived there as well), along with Ontario and Moreno Valley/Riverside is where I call "home"
CalifaThugz
Yea Fontana has too many ricers I think they call them... sadly I got beat by one before I officially declared my 280z a parts car. I missed the 4th gear....
naviathan
I have a 79 Fairlady 280Z I can take measurements off of. But I can tell you now the door mirrors are different than the fender mirrors. Same style, but the arm is angled different.
SoCal-s130
Yeah I figured that, I was wondering if I can hack away at the bottom to get the same angle?
naviathan
I guess that's possible. Can't see why it wouldn't work.
