Guest Anonymous
where did all of you guys get your swaybars for you 240Z's? and how much you guys pay? thanks
auxilary
mine came from Motorsport auto, paid 230 (they're 199 now, i think) for 1" front, 7/8 rear, and all bushings and endlinks/fittings included. DavyZ on the other hand lucked out and got a set of pretty much same sway bars from a junkyard in good condition for $30!

Mike C
Mine are 1" front and rear Suspension Techniques. They came from Summit racing for $229 for the pair I believe.
Guest Anonymous
Mine were MSA as well. Just something to keep in mind, if you go much larger than 1" front, you may want to beef up the supports on the frame rail, as its not uncommon to pull the swaybar mounts right out of the thin sheetmetal moorings in front there. I've heard of this happening more than once on Z cars (and even older cars, ripping out mounts off a solid frame), and judging by how the car is constructed I can believe it. Anyway, just wanted to bring up that point in case you hadn't heard that. Regards, Lone Ps: Even the 1" bar looks positively beefy compared to the wimpy stock one... 260DET
When fitting a bigger rear bar to my '77, I found that the stock mounts flex, so they were beefed up, as were the fronts too. This can be checked by removing the link from one side and using a piece of pipe on the end of the bar to lever it up and down. On mine you could actually see the stock mount moving quite a bit. Which really negates the effectiveness of a heavier bar.
Guest Anonymous
I pulled a front sway bar off a 280 2+2 to get a slightly larger diameter bar. I got the sway bar, vaccum brake and master cylindr for $60.00. This sway bar should match my front 10 inch coilovers which are rated at 165 Pounds. I am leaving my stock rear sway bar alone for the 180 pound coilovers since there are rampant rumors that V-8 Datsuns depise rear sway bars. A sports car needs a rear sway bar to be a sports car. It is my understanding that sway bar, springs and struts should all match in similar fashion to be efective. I considered a one inch sway bar may prove overpowering for my KYB GR2 struts and my little 165 pound springs on a reduced weight Z of 2500 pound street car. My kidneys are weak.
