CalifaThugz
Hey whats up everybody? I was covering the hole where the emblem to a Z goes but as I was doing so I ran my fingers to the top and it felt as if that went somewhere... Does anybody know what it is? I want to know before I cover it up... and is it important:?:
blueovalz
I'd like to try and help, but what emblem, and "fingers to the top" of what?
Pop N Wood
Those are vents to let air out of the car. The early Z's had little vents on the hatch just below the rear window Later Z's had them in the C pillars.
CalifaThugz
So if I cover them nothing bad will happen or something?
Challenger
It ofsetts the perfect pressurization equilibrium in the Z's cabin..... Itll be harder to close doors or the hatch and Im guessing some issues with the A/C or fan when theyre on?

Challenger
lol. thats some weird science. i didnt know early z's were like balloons. I was really just trying to sound smart. But it does change how the Interoir is pressurized. All new cars have vents like these some have them inside of the rear plastic bumpers. These have flaps that when you shut a door get pushed open with the incresed pressure which lets air out.
Two40MuscleZ
They really do not vent very much and molding them off does not create any problems. Many of us with the early Z's have eliminated them without consiquence. I've done that on both of my '72 's and have never encountered any problem. In fact it smooths out the look of the car, especially if you decide to shave the drip rails. N Good luck, VAN
