Guest VietVet
I was coming out of AutoZone (Chapman and Brookhurst), pleased to have found a AC Clutch puller ($26 or Free Loaner) to R&R the bearing on my 1988 300ZX Turbo SS. I asked the guy driving a sweet 240Z ( Chevy V8 Powered ) if this was a Z-Car convention. After comparing notes with Andrew ( HybridZ ) he recommended this forum. After a stop for some Becks Bier, I go home, gave my wife a Pink Rose and a bottle of Allize Rose. Got a nice kiss, and listened about her experience with tiny Ben and Jerry ice cream. ( a super treat for a Curves going, Weight Watching and health food freak. She succesfully has lost 47lb's. ) Fired up the computer and joined up. Then I realized I didn't remember Andrews User Name. So Andrew if you are out there, PM me or give me a call on the Cell. Cheers VietVet - - AKA VietVet68 on Z31 or RWDNissan forums or AmyCroft on www.my350z.com 1988 Shiro Special 300ZX Turbo (175,000 miles) number 849 of 1002 1981 White 280ZX Turbo (93,000 miles) 1981 Silver 280ZX Turbo (195,000 miles) 1996 Maxima GLE "cough!" Guest VietVet
Welcome...If you are like me, you will learn so much your brain will explode...This place has so much talent Het976: I doubt if my old brain will explode. The car's I have now need Restoration. In a stock way.. I recognize the quick way to power is to gut, and put a Chevy and a T56 in place. But, I'm an old man and we allready do 2003=2007 350Z's and G35's with 410 to 750 RWHP VQ35 upgrades. www.forgedinternals.com But, These are my personal cars. One I bought new in 1981...280ZXT Some rust...But Smogged. One my Z-Car mechanic sold me for a song. A 1981 Daily Driver 280ZXT. The last one, I bought last month is a 1988 300ZX Turbo Shiro Special Just a freeway flyer. I don't need to go quick, just when running fast, I need to remove the roll out of the car. I have a bar bender that will fix that, plus a box of Poly inserts. But man! I was fasinated with the job that Andrew has done on his 240.. I do some drifting, and X-Cross at Button Willow and Willow Springs. Our team member is a G35 Coupe Guy with 820 RWHP.. We support his Jim Wolf Tech VQ35 - Balls to the walls VRT Racing car, however as we are conservative and support CARB Cert upgrades in general, and then there are those that will never be CARB Cert - That little company in Simi Valley, and Greedy that promised CERT and never applied/Lied. We like fast cars, but like quick cars more. The V8 option maybe a way to go for my Grand Daughter Victoria.. She will get the Z-Cars in my will. And her boyfriend is an avid WRX-STI type. He drove one of our 350Z-TT's and had to go wipe himself afterwards. Cheers VietVet - AKA VietVet68 - Going back to VietNam in July of 2008 after 40 Years. Guest VietVet
Thanks for the welcome aboard... I'm sure you guy's will teach me much. I'm still sorting the old car's out. The only car I had that was sorted out, was my 350Z with Hotchkis suspension and a set of Koni's. Unfortunately it was totalled by a Female club member. She had her own 350Z and wanted to test out the handleing. She was to go around the block, with a chinese buddy of ours as second seat. She made three corners fine. This was the crash scene.. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86865&highlight=BlackRock I have Farmers. They gave 20,000 to the credit unit, 10,000 to me. The car had 19,000 miles in 18 months, and I had $43,000 in it. Farmers Puts you back where you belong.. Is a joke... Buy Gap Insurance.. Guest VietVet
Thanks for the welcome.. I used to be able to assemble small block Chevy's in field conditions. Putting one of the 283 to 350's in one of my older 280ZXT cars might be fun. * See foot note Let me know of any Get2gethers in Orange or LA County, I'd like to come out to meet the guy's in person. Cheers VietVet - *Footnote.. Actually my 1981 280ZXT's are a lot of fun with the stock 195HP engine and drive train. We don't have an idea of when they stop running. They might run up to 300,000 miles before overhual/Replacement. The one I bought new has more power at 200,000 than the one with 93,000 miles which my Z-Car mechanic gave me to take care of.
