blue_leaf
Been trying to find power figure for F54 L28 with dished pistons and N42 cylinder head running 240Z SUs and Extractors with full exhaust - what sort of power/torque atw can be expected? If noone knows of power/torque for this combination - how much in general can an L28 produce stock or with mild mods at the wheels?
johnc
At the crank you'll see anywhere from 150 to 200hp depending on the quality of the engine build. A good used engine with the mods you listed will typically make around 160hp.
blue_leaf
Thanks for quick reply. So what would that be at the wheels - has anyone actually dynoed their cars with these engines - got any dyno graphs? Any torque figures and the rpms those figures can be expected at? johnc
Probably 120 to 130 at the wheels.
JMortensen
There are some dyno graphs of relatively stock engines at zhome.com
z-ya
With dished pistons (8.3:1 CR), you might make around 130WHP. With flat pistons (10:1CR), and a mild cam (460 lift/280 duration), it should be in the 180WHP range.
fhptom
I just dyno'd my 260 w/280 block and N42 head(shaved) with flat top pistons, SUs and 6-1 header. 168rwhp @5500 and 165 lb-ft
z_cars_rule
thats not as bad as i thought it would be. I am only hoping for 165rwhp with F54 with flat top pistons, 1mm overbore, N42 head, 460/280 cam, properly tuned SUs, extractors and a 2.5" exhaust.
