zedevan
my understanding is the enamal rustoleum is used there is an acrylic, brightside, which gets slightly more shine in general, i've played around with this one and it hardly looses it over time (didn't have any wax on it), and you can always just re-polish either paint anyway

AK-Z
Gloss black it is Primer isn't needed? I find that there is a texture difference in the areas transitioning from metal to body filler when applying paint. Can this be finish sanded to be even? jeffer949
Thats not gloss black. I mixed it myself. Its like 3 parts royal blue to one part black
tkach
jeffer949 Looks amazing !!!!!!!!!!!! How many coats did you apply, and did you wetsand after each?
JSM
Has anyone buffed this paint job? Curious to how a high speed buff would hold up on this type of paint?
jeffer949
Thats what your supposed to do after your final wet sand. I gave up and just left it ruff. Its like 12 coats and wet sanding between every 2-
BSD
HORRIBLE!! j/k, looks great jef, buff that sob.
jeffer949
Id rather strip it all off and paint it right rather than put any more effort into this paint job
CantZme
jeff, You don't sound too enthusiastic about the way this turned out. What I really mean is that it looks pretty good from the pictures you posted, what gives? You don't think the buffing would help?
Sparks280zt
No offense guys, but for maybe $200 you can buy Nason primer and paint. Wouldn't it be worth the extra money, espicially for the UV/gas resistance of real car paint.
jeffer949
Its just a pain. and when you wet sand you just keep sanding through the edges. At least i did. Your just never going to get that deep looking paint that i want. Idk Just want something better. Its ok for now but Its just so much work. its to much work for the end result in my opinion. AK-Z
Ok. I opt to go to a paint shop and see what I can do. I'll ask if using it as a base coat is an option. Gonna buy small can of rustuelium for misc parts
tkach
jeffer949 what grit sandpaper did you use? Do you think a higher grit would prevent the sanding through the edges issue?
