kilten_one
I was searching for another possible car to buy and came across a Lotus Europa when I saw the engine bay it looks to me like it has a pair of SUs on it. Is it just me or are those SUs on that engine? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Lotus-Europa-1972-Lotus-Europa-Twin-Cam-TC-Concours-and-RallyWinner_W0QQitemZ130124476508QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6312QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

zcarnut
Do you really think that Nissan invented the SU carburetor? SU stands for Skinner’s Union, a British company who first produced them in 1905. They were widely used on Austin’s, Triumph’s, MG’s, Volvo’s, and even some Saab’s. http://www.sucarburetors.com/
kilten_one
Yes, I knew that SU carbs were not exclusive to Nissans and Datuns but I did not know of any car under the name of Lotus with them and they looked similar to SUs
SHO-Z
I think the Lotus 7 had SUs and the Super 7 had webers. The 7 had the rocker arm Cortina engine and the Super had the double overhead cam. I could be wrong a lot of water has went under the bridge since I have seen either on.
zero
yea, It made me pretty happy to see SU's on some old Jag v12's and straight sixes in a show the other day.
veritech-z
The jag SU's were 2" bore, compared to the 1.75" bore on the Z.
