TurkishSquirrel
I was wondering, in my 280z, next to the open hood lever, there is a knob that can be pulled our and there is a dial that says open, or can be rotated to saw close. There is also another knob on the passenger side. I don't know what these things do, anyone know?
sweetleaf
Fresh air vents...
TurkishSquirrel
really? so the dial opens and closes the fresh air vents, but then what does the knob do?
e_racer1999
i'm assuming the dial is for the a/c slash heater... the pull out know is for the non-fan-propelled fresh air vents that intake from the front of the car.
TurkishSquirrel
so pulling the knob out opens them or closes them?
e_racer1999
pulling the knob out opens the fresh air vent
Pop N Wood
El Segundo! I use to work there! There are pull rods on each side to open the side vents. There is also a knob on a flexible cable on the driver's that you can turn to reset the trip odometer. At least that is the way my car is set up. Armand
There is also a knob right of the steering column under the dash that adjusts the brightness of the dash lights, at least in the 240z, don't know if its in the same spot in the 280z. TurkishSquirrel
ya there's the trip reset and panel dim, then next to the open hood lever is the knob for the vents, and the open shut dial. still little confused on the dial though, is that one also for the vents?
