rwwisnesky
I am in the process of installing a LS1 with 6 speed into my 1978 280Z. I am prepping the engine compartment. I removed the computer and the drivers side harness in tact. I am trying to remove the passenger side now. It appears to converge into a white junction block below the dash. I separated all of the connectors, but one appears to be permanently attached to the back side of the junction box. Does anyone know how to remove it, or does it come out with the harness, hopefully not. Thanks

love-my-V8-280Z
I have a 78, the fuel injection harness comes out in one piece but not the rest. You have to figure each remaining wire and figure out what you need and don't need. You will have to study the wireing diagram, you will find that plastic board with the plugs on it very useful. I removed the board and after I got done removing all the unused wires I mounted my LT1 computer in its place. Pretty tight but it don't get in the way. I have been working on a 280Z LT1 wiring diagram if you would like a copy. It would help with gauges and probably a lot of other issues I suppose, considering you said LS1.. Z-8
I would like a copy of that also, if you please. I'm putting an LT-1 into a ZX, but I think that would help out still.
rwwisnesky
Thanks for the info. The computer and harness did come out in one piece. On the other side I finially cut the seven wires to the junction block to remove the engime room "snake" so I could work it more easily and also paint the engine compartment. My biggest fear is the electrical in the convesion.
m1noel
RW- Get good wiring diagrams for the Z, and from the donor car with the pin-outs. Just go slow and solder up one connection at a time and you'll do fine. Mike
gvincent
I would love a copy as well, I'm doing a 95 LT1/T56 into a 76 280Z, and I have collected as much info about wiring this thing as I can but am still scared but will continue ahead. Hopefull to test fit motor and tranny this weekend. Thanks, Greg I have a 78, the fuel injection harness comes out in one piece but not the rest. The Chiropractor
I'd love a copy as well if you don't mind. I'm running a 1965 327ci in this 1977 but I don't think this will be my last conversion... www.cardomain.com/ride/2886421/
