  1. I don't have a 240, but I do have a 280zx thats a really good daily driver. You interested?
  2. I think that the chrome one matches better, but that clear one is trick!
  3. I think you're talking about the right plate. It's the two plates that you welded to the square tubing. I picked up the plates that the JTR manual says, and they are THICK. Thanks for the info.
  4. 80LT1, how think was your plate for those engine mounts?
  5. Are there any kind of identifying marks on the trailer? If I see a black trailer somewhere, I don't want to jump to conclusions and be wrong about this. I'm not someone who knows difference's between trailers, or even what company's make them.
  6. Zguy, First off, your right. He does need more evidence to back up his claim. And that's the exact reason he's here, talking about it, trying to get more inputs to see if it's right or wrong. He never said(in is extremely long post:mrgreen:) that "his equation/anamoly" was right. I was hoping to help a little, but my resource doesn't have anything on turbo/supercharged engines. I wish you the best in this journey Kevin, and will post anything that I come across that might further your endevor.
  7. I've been looking on craigslist over here in San Diego, haven't seen anything. This whole thing really sucks. I'm a joker myself, and when I cross the line by trying to lighten a situation with a joke that nobody finds funny, I know the best thing to do is just apologize and move on. Not try to justify myself, just kinda makes things worst. If anybody has any other ideas of places to look online for where this @$$hole might try to unload that beautiful car, let me know. I hope things work out for that guy.
  8. Kevin, Do the articles in the mag have to be about turbo/supercharged engines? I flipped through it, and none of them are.
  9. Kevin, I just read your post, and I'll look at my mag, which I think is an "engine masters", and should have another post tomorrow sometime. I'm glad to help out anyone who has a new equation that might pan out. It's kinda cool when you think about it, at the cusp of discovery, finding a new way to do something. I wouldn't use this until a real answer is found, but since I didn't win the lottery this year, and hence, am not going to buy every engine piece I can think of(still dreaming of that moment), I would use little equations to see what piece's might work best for my budget. I say go for it, and the nay-sayers should read rule #6. I hope I'm not pissing anybody off with this, I really do enjoy this site.
  10. Thats really messed up(to put it nicely). I hope he gets it back, and puts those a-holes away!
  11. I like the idea of the possibility of a new math equation. I say keep trying it out until it is proven true or false. All the different variables that could effect it, also effect every other equation used to guess HP, or whatever, even a dyno. I understand that one would use this for an engine that's not built, or is in the process of building(i.e. trying to pick the right parts). So if one cylinder has 14.7 pounds of A.P. in it, then a turbo with 1 psi of boost would then douple the A.P. in the cylinder? The question seems to be, is that a reliable way to estimate HP gain, A.P.(14.7) x psi? That might be common knowledge that I don't know(very possible:redface:), or is this the "anamoly" that your trying to see if it plays out? If you want, I have a couple engine building mags, I can flip through them and see if they have any builds with the numbers you need for this. Just let me know if your down for that.
  12. Yeah, thats true......unless you were able to use the surface mode to it's full potential. Honest sir, I was just using the 20mm rounds for the truck, I didn't know there were people in it?!?
  13. Do you have the LPWS(CRAM) in place? I'm asking just because I'm a CIWS tech, and have quite a few buddies that have gone/are going out there for that.
  14. Are you getting vapor lock? If the fuel lines are heating up, causing vapor lock, that might give you the symptoms you have now.
  15. I could have done something like that, I'll have to re-check it. Maybe I didn't seat something down tight enough. Thanks for the help Pilgrim.
  16. No, it doesn't blow air. I think that the control panel isn't getting any power. I did check the fuses in the fuse block. Maybe there is something in the engine bay that got blown. I've looked in my repair manuel, but it doesn't show anything that helpful. I found a fuse on the motor itself, but it was fine. Thanks for trying to give me a hand on this, this whole thing really bugs me.
  17. It's all the lights for the controls, plus they don't work either. The heater used to work, and I would get hot air. But after messing with the ignition problem, something got effed up.
  18. I have a question about my '79. It's pretty much stock right now, I have a LT1/T56 going into it. I had an ignition problem once, and it took me awhile to figure it out, but after doing some crazy tinkering, removeing the key ignition and replaceing it with another, and some other stuff, my heater/A/C controls on my dash don't get any power. The A/C side I'm not worried about because I've removed most of the components. But I do want the heat for defrosting, and cooling down the radiator. I've looked through a lot of stuff in my repair manuel, plus tried finding all the fuses I could and they all seem good. Does anybody have any thoughts or ideas for me? That would be great.
  19. I think the saying is "figure out your budget, then double it." And that's what your going to be spending. But that's the best place to start, how fast are you willing to spend?
