Here is another Skyline link..

I am interested in this one...not a GTR but I like. What do you guys think? Its only $11,000. The GTRs are almost double that. This one is a GT. Should I?

'72 2-door Hakosuka L20, I don't know you but I hate you. :D

I never should have sold my 4-door Hakosuka when I was in Okinawa.

Definitely like the 2dr option in the second link. I like not having a GTR. GTR's are too expensive. I refuse to put GTR emblems on mine. I like having power windows and an L31. Back to your question. I really like the stock GTR sized overfender being blended into the car. Sharp looking and think you should have already bought the car and post pics soon.

One of my screen saver pics is of a 4dr with a huge forward facing hood scoop with a tubbed rear end, racing down a straight line track and whooping up on a fullsize chevy. I have often wondered if the Z V8 kits would work. If you are going to try this I would definitely try it on a 4 dr. More room for making things fit.

Here is another but a 4 door. Im gonna go look tomorrow. Will just need to get the wantanabees later. Looks in good condition. I like the idea of a 4 door because if I solid axle it, there will be plenty of room for tubbing etc...

This one is about $10,000 and has almost 2 years of JCI still on it...

Opinions?

hyaku ju go man en????????? choooooooo yasui yo!? I need to ship one of those down to okinawa. :-)

I'm looking at getting an R32 GT-R from mainland shipped down here to "hold me over" while my S30 sits in the back yard under a tarp.

Might hold off on building the Z till after I buy a house here.

Well Im glad to hear that!! I thought it was a good price too. Ill get it delivered next Tues. By the way, I want some Watanabes for it but dont know the backspacing or width etc...any ideas? Also do you know if the ignition switch is the same as a Z for the hakosuka?

Watanabe themselves recommend the following sizes for the GC10:

F: 6j x 14 ( +21 offset )

R: 6j x 14 ( +16 offset )

or

F & R: 6j x 15 ( +18 offset )

or specifically for the PGC10 ( GT-R ) which might fit your GC10:

F: 6.5j x 15 ( +19.5 offset )

R: 7j x 15 ( +21 offset )

But of course if yo want to go for bigger diameter and/or more negative offset you are going to need to look at the variables of tyres and suspension too.

Regarding the ignition switch - are you talking about just the switch unit itself as opposed to the complete switch / key housing / steering lock unit? If it is just the switch then I believe it might well be the same as an S30-series Z of the same year production.

The S30 Z and C10 Skyline steering lock and switch assemblies have different part numbers. Your GC10 would have had 48700-R0101 ( watch out for the GT-R part number, as it is quite different ) but I'm sure you could buy just the switching unit on its own from a specialist.

Now that you have bought the GC10, I really recommend that you invest in one of the repro factory Parts Lists and a repro factory Workshop Manual. The parts list on its own will save you hours of lost time and headscratching.
