bumble zee
Bottom half is all welded, sand cast is pretty much off both halves, a bit rough now, awaiting final sanding. Just waiting to get off my lazy ass and get the throttle body flange welded on the top half. Throttle body will be mounted TPS up
Clifton
Maybe you already know. The longer runner length benefits low end lower rpm, something the turbo already does. It's not going to make more HP, if anything it would hurt it if the runner diameter is the same. It does look different though.
olie05
Looks awesome... especially if you could somehow leave the bottom runners exposed... They look nice and curvy
slownrusty
Very ingenious! And I will like to hear the feddback on the differences it does make. My only changes would be to make the plenum larger. And I assume you are changing over to a cable throttle? Keep the pics and progress coming. bumble zee
Yes, it will be a throttle cable now. I am glad I kept all that linkage on the throttle body for the 240sx. But as Clifton said, I dont know of any power increases, I am looking for a different style, and maybe throttle response. But if there are any power increases, that would be nice. steveosupremeo
well the runners are a bigger diameter...so maybe it'll help out in the rpm band somewhere. the one i'm building i just bought the injector bungs off of ebay for $24. and gonna use the square throttle body pad from the 240sx SOHC intake manifold. and the most important thing is it looks cool! OlderThanMe
I like this project a LOT! I have an extra LD manifold that I would love to play with for my L26 testbed motor.
steveosupremeo
me and gearheadstik got the TB mounting plate installed yesterday, he's a damn fine welder! gotta do the injector bungs next time!
TimZ
Ya know... get a pair of butterfly valves from a Taurus SHO, splice in some short runners on the other side of the plenum and you could have a variable length runner setup. You're almost there - that plenum orientation would make it pretty easy...
