z or bust
Well i am going to be putting a 327 w/ a t5 in my 83 280zx and really dont want to buy the mounts from jtr (not knocking them at all, but price is a little high). Does any one have pics of engine mounts they made for their 280zx sbc swap. I would like to get ideas.

You think $250 is high for the Mounting Kit, which includes engine mounts, rubber isolators, transmission crossmember, installation hardware? From what I read on JTR's site you get all this: Seems like a good price to me and would save you countless hours of fabrication.
80LS1T
I have pics and rough dimensions of the the MSA mounts. They are very basic and would be very easy to make. They are not set back or allow any adjustment like the JTR ones. If mine were slotted I could have slid my LT1 back some before it would have hit the firewall. http://www.datsun-280zx-lt1.com/SpecialPartsandMounts.html Guy

80LS1T
80LT1, how think was your plate for those engine mounts? I'm not sure what you mean? How thick was what plate? The part where the bolts go through is probably 1/4" maybe a little less? Guy
Z-8
I think you're talking about the right plate. It's the two plates that you welded to the square tubing. I picked up the plates that the JTR manual says, and they are THICK. Thanks for the info.

ferreido
I removed the rubber from the old ZX mounts and welded them up to attach to the chev. mount. See pics in member gallery.
