BurnoutZ
Alright, so ive been looking for some new rims. And i have finally found the ones i like. But the offset is 43mm. I know msa sells some adapters to allow up to 42mm offset. Now thats the problem... do you guys think 1mm will matter too much? Is there another adapter kit that maybe allows for 44mm offset? jerryb
1mm should not make a difference....I cant imagine But I guess its always wise to measure twice and cut once.
Administrators RTz Posted January 19, 2008 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2008 1mm is just under .040"... the size of a healthy sparkplug gap. There's probably more variability than that from one chassis to another.
BurnoutZ
Anyone think any of these adapters would be a better selection than the msa ones for a 43mm offset wheel? http://www.ezaccessory.com/4_Lug_Adapter_s/43.htm I'm not very knowledgable about this stuff... Also, How do the 4-lug to 5-lug adapters work on the second page?

wheelman
How do the 4-lug to 5-lug adapters work on the second page? They are made up of 2 layers. 1 layer bolts to the hub using the original 4 bolt pattern then the second layer which has the 5 studs is bolted to it using countersunk hex head screws. I haven't used the 4 to 5 adapters but I used to run spacer adapters that converted from the Datsun pattern to Honda 4x100. They are 1 1/2" thick. I never had a problem with them but will not be using them anymore because I'm switching to a set of Diamond races wheels with the Datsun pattern. het976
I have the 4 to 5 adapters on my car. I have not driven it yet (soon...very soon...) but I can say they are very well made and look to be plenty stout. Mine are a total of 2" thick.
