coyotegary
we stripped down the car today and after a couple more last items are removed we move into body work . with any luck it will have all new shiny red paint next week sometime. we also gutted the interior and added sound deadening to the trunk and interior flooring compartment. also added a new sony stereo with a marine remote in the console. stereo will be in the trunk

het976
Good looking car. I have a 1968 roadster that I mounted the stereo in the trunk, along with a Harmon Kardon iPod controller. Everything is hidden and the stock radio is still in place. They are a fun drive. DavyZ
Hah! That's the same place my brother had his 6x9's mounted in the back. I remember that it seemed to work very well and he had some decent sound. I think he had front speakers under the dash or something like that. He avoided anything to do with cutting up the doors. I like the idea of mounting everything in the trunk and using a remote up front. It's nearly impossible to find veritical mount stereos from what I've seen. I'm curious to find out what you'll do. The car looks good black, but red will do fine too Thanks for sharing the photos with us. Davy
het976
Here is how I mounted mine... It is pretty basic. I bought a a stand alone enclosure for a boat and built an angled mounting bracket so the face would be past the trunk lip and I can load CDs. I only really use it as head unit for the iPod, but it will play CDs just fine.
coyotegary
i built an enclosure in the trunk that will not only house the stereo but will also box in the rear speaker area in that vertical panel in the front of the trunk. carpet it all and sound deaden and i am hoping it will be functional and sound great too body work has got off to a killer start today so i will post pics as i get them
