Manilfold Studs?

I did some searching and couldn't find anything so...

I'm removed my intake and exhaust manifolds for the first time today on an engine outside the car, even then it was somewhat of a pain in the ass, granted i left the turbo on since it was having trouble bending back the metal tabs that hold the nuts from turning.

Anyways, doing that, i realized there is no way i have the patience or skinny fingers to do that in the car, and certainly would not be able to get it back together again.

Has anyone ever replaced the lower manifold bolts with studs? I figure it would be far easier to slide the manifolds onto some studs and then through some nuts on it, then try and align the both manifolds and a bolt over the the holes in the head.

Thanks for the plug but.

What manifolds are you running because to be honest with you, I've sold over 200 sets stud kits and never had that a complaint on them? Now I have been told that on a certain tripple carb intake the flanged nuts will not go on because of the flange so I cut the flanges off the nuts with my lathe for those guys. The curve in the runners is very tight and there lies the issue.

This is one of my kits that Gabe had as a spare which is crazy because the stud grade is 10.9 and they should easily outlast the rest of the hardware on the engine if not the engine itself. I buy the studs from the supplier of a major auto maker. The nuts come from another supplier of a different major auto maker. At the moment I'm doing a few things so my site is not taking orders, this will be back to normal in a week or two so nailing Gabe's auction might not be a bad idea.

pallnet im running the stock 82 zxt intake and exhaust manifolds and they get enough engagement to hold it tight it just doesnt get fully though the locking part of the lock nut. does that make sense? and i thought it might of just been my set but we installed a set on SPEEDERS and it was the same. its working but i would rather have more of the threads passing through the bolt. not saying your kit is bad in any way shape or form though as its working fine i just would of liked it to be like 2-3 mm longer
