HoustonZ
Welcome to my turbo build! I've been inspired by the amazing members here such as Big Phil I'm hoping to get about 350hp to the wheels. Right now I'm unwilling to crack the engine open to do any head/bottem end work. Bought/Built so far: L28ET complete engine bought on ebay and shipped from Ohio 2002 Holset HY35 (Non elbow version) Megasquirt MS1 V3, Harness, and Temp Sensors 12mm Billet Fuel Rail (Still need to drill oring holes) Custom Log Style Intake Still need to buy/build: 440cc Injectors Intercooler/Piping Wideband O2 Meth Injection Random other little things
1 fast z
I sure hope you will incorperate some sort of velocity stacks inside that intake. Makes TONS of difference even on boost.
HoustonZ
That's a definite yes on the velocity stacks. Those parts were all I had time to machine over spring break though. Now that I look at the turbo intake design thread, I'm starting to have second thoughts about my log intake. I wonder if its worth the time and materials to construct an optimum design. TrumpetRhapsody
I'm waiting to build mine until that thread comes to a conclusion.
HoustonZ
Hey TR, maybe we can work a deal and I could have two manifolds welded up at the same time
HoustonZ
Here is what I wanted to do for the velocity stacks. I'll have to machine out the plenum to accept the new 2x20 bar that will have the radi milled into it. Then it will all be welded together. HoustonZ
Well, I might have fixed the lack of a hy35w housing! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270228078827 I love ebay:)
HoustonZ
School is finally over for the semester! Now hopefully I can find some time to work on the Z, while working 45 hours a week for an engineering company. My to do list. Ebay intercooler kit. 3" Piping. SX Fuel Pressure Regulator. Supra 440CC Injectors. I got a great deal on ebay from a Nascar team selling off a bunch of their old hoses. Perfect condition stuff. HoustonZ
Well this sucks....... Someone slammed on their brakes in the yield lane while I was coasting behind them. I hit their rear bumper at about 15mph. My hood is tweaked, the right headlight bucket is bent, and my right fender is bent. That's not the problem. We want to keep it off insurance so I'm paying for his new rear bumper. Looks like I'm going to be out $1500ish. *sigh*
