Sven
That looks just like the NOS Kamei air dam that came with my $100 parts car. Yours should be a little more solid than the flex-ithane of the original. Start churning out those spoilers! I'm waiting for the "for sale" announcement. jdizzy204
what type of gun are you spraying the gel coat with and how big is the nozzle?
z-ya
Use cheap sprayers. We had one that had a smaller nozzle than the other, so we used that one for the fine first layer. We then used the one with the bigger nozzle build it up. Keeping them clean, and functioning is the hard part. You need to constant.y rotate them to keep the gelcoat from hardening in the gun. You need to spray acetone through it to keep it clean.
carusoracer
Great thread. will you guys have finished and mounted pics to discern the shape and depth of the pieces on a vehicle? I'm very interested in the front fenders and the front and rear spoiler if they will be for sale and how much for each piece? Great pictures! proxlamus©
Thank you so much for the pictures and write up! I've been thinking about making some molds for soo long now =)
z-ya
When we have some parts made, I will post photos of them mounted on a car. Not sure when this will happen. I'm looking for a set of 280Z front lower valances if anyone has a set I could borrow for making molds from. These usually get replaced when an after market air dam is installed. MoNkEyT88
I bought a cup gun to spray gel coat with, although I haven't used it yet. It allows you to use disposable paper cups, so all you have to clean is the nozzle and cover. (Gel coat once hardened is impossible to clean from a any kind of paint gun.) http://stores.infinityfrp.com/-strse-117/Gel-Coat-Spray-gun/Detail.bok
