Another way to mount an LSx Motor in your z

Found these on summit. Thought they were pretty neat. Although the jci mount does the job on most LSx swaps. I think this could also work.

I guess they'd be ok if you don't mind urethane in the mounts.

 

Personally, I like the idea of the additional bracing provided by the JCI setup, or even the new crossmember using stock mounts that others have come up with.

I'm personally using the jci mount as well. But the way the mount is designed it uses one of the tie rod bolts. Some of us use polyurethane bushing for the tierod and this has been known to snap the tie rod. You really don't want that happening in an ls1 swap using the jci kit. Im going to switch over the rubber bushings for the tie rods for that reason.

 

Thought this was another interesting way of doing it though.

I thought about it when I made mine but without any dimensions I didn't want to waste the $$ to buy them just to find they couldn't be made to fit. They may well work just couldn't tell from a single pic. I kind of liked the round donut mounts though.

It looks sturdy. But your right you cant tell just from the pics. Maybe on my next ls swap haha.

Just for info purposes, my JCI prototype LS1 conversion is still running fine with no problems with respect to the JCI components now over 4 years and nearly 30k miles later.
