Scam artist gets owned on MBenz site

yah, I love how people don't realize just how little anonymity there is on the internet. Hell, realistically, not having pictures would only have slowed people down by maybe 3 hours at most.

Some of the loudmouthed teenagers who know it all at another ZCAR site have found out firsthand the perils of the not-so-anonymous internet really is when some big bearded hairy guy rings them up (and their caller ID shows a local number within 10 minutes drive...)or knocks on their door for a friendly social visit. They aren't so loudmouthed after that...

"Uh, your number, that's ahhhh Rome, right?"

Yep, you live in Marietta, right?

"Yeeees, uh why?"

That's about 10 minutes or something now that the traffic is cleared, right?

"Maybe 45...uh...why?"

Oh, just idle thought, I'm not doing anything this evening, maybe we can get together and talk about those comments you made about my wife and child...

I like how it really took off during the memorial day weekend. Some people should...maybe...get out a bit more if this was their obsession over Memorial Day Weekend! LOL

I'm more of a personal visit with a bat kinda guy. It would have been 'road trip' time for me on Memorial Day Weekend.

Yeah, a ROAD TRIP over Memorial Day doesn't arouse suspicions. And a baseball bat ductape, tyvek suit, and a plastic drop cloth could be easily explained any number of ways during a traffic stop, especially if they look to be randomly arrayed around the back of your hatchback...

Now, if you also happen to have a collapsible entrenching tool, a bag of quicklime and a battery operated sawzall in there, you might not explain it too easily. "I'm visiting a friend to play softball and do some gardening later in the evening" just doesn't have the ring of truth to it, even to Bufurd T. Justice (or Barney Fife, for that matter!)

Some things are better paid for cash just before you need them.

I like your style Tony, some things do need a personal touch to get your point across. That just might be the Italian in me coming out though...I had a couple buddy's back in Georgia that where into the GTP thing, got scammed over some parts and found out the guy only lived fifty or so miles from us. A bunch of them (I said them) went on a "road trip" one weekend and came back with money and parts. Pretty cool when things work out.

I wouldn't know about the 'italian' thing... I'm full blooded American...

I just use the screen name "Tony D" because 'Fat Walking Eagle' would sound presumptious. It would have nothing to to with nobody being able to pronounce my last name properly.

I mean, Ciccolo, how hard can it be, right?

"Burn the bat, eat the cannolis." The perfect crime: no evidence! LOL

"What's that, someone claims a stock 140mph 240Z. Fredo, what did I tell you about exaggeration, here on the forum? Michael, get me my bat..."

I hear Cubans got a good thing as well...

I was waiting for someone to post pictures of either the kid face spread across the asphalt and his car beat to hell with golf clubs, or a picture of him being escorted into the back of a cop car.

I mean, they find out his address, they find out where he works, they find a bunch of people he scammed, and not ONE person did anything?!? Then again, now that I think about it, if I was to make a personal visit to a scammer you better believe I wouldnt go online and post up what I did. Like we said, no anonymity on the internet.

It also pisses me off that he is black. I myself am not black, but it sucks when the person actually fits the stereotype. When I was reading the thread a little birdy in the back of my head was saying, "how much you wanna bet black or Mexican." And low and behold he's black. It would have been better if it turned out to be some white kid who plays on his college golf team.

What also pisses me off is he seems to do it to everyone he can. Its not like he had a set of rims, and just decided to scam someone that one time. Doesnt make it ok, but I hate that he is out there doing the same sh|t. then again he may not be, seeing my face, my house, my dad's name, my place of work and school on the internet would scare the sh|t out of me. You never know WHO you are gonna piss off and what they are capable of. Lots of people would kill over $1000.

:weird: Probably best to keep thoughts like that in your head.

"Lots of people would kill over $1000."

Er...

In some cases, its 'not the money, it's the principle of the thing'...

I heard (?) of a couple of E7's in the Air Service who restricted their entire contingent of working men to base, while they went out on the town in Olangapo and Angeles City PI every night. It went along well until one of the guys in the squadron who just happened to have relatives nearby started telling them he couldn't come see mom and sister because he was restricted to base.

I hear a collection was made, and the grand total was $200. Reportedly, allegedly (and I would have no knowledge of it firsthand at all) it was $10 from everybody on the pre-team. When the local 'toughs' were contacted reportedly their first question was 'who is it you want killed' with the second reported question being 'and were do you want us to dump the body?'

I'm told by sources that after much emphatic cajoling, and coaching on what they were to be told, they agreed to the deed. But they were shocked that they reportedly were being paid that much money only to break some arms. The story goes they said "We break arms only $20!"

That Friday Nite, MSGT E, and MSGT C went into town. Saturday at roll call they were late. Apparently they came in with casts on their arms, and a WHOLE NEW ATTITUDE about this 'restriction to base' thing they had going.

Neat story, wish I could remember who first told it to me. Or some of the names. I forget those details over the years. It was a good story. But I forget so much. It's hell getting old and forgetting details like that.

Boy, I bet those guys had a great time in town after being cooped up on base for two weeks straight working 16 hour days! "A round of San Miguel for my friends, and a game of Smiles, if you will mamasan!" Galing-Galing mo'eko, sip sip m'buto!

LOL

Thats the same guy who ripped me off 2 years ago on a pair of dodge ram 1500 headlights! I was just reading along until I seen the company and screen name. It automatically jogged my memory. Said to see that he's still doing it and that its been done to people for at least the last two year...
