Porsche brakes vs. Skyline hubs/etc

Recommended Posts

Being a complete n00b at brakes and such, please bear with me... : )

I was thinking I might use Porsche brakes (since a friend that works at a local

Porsche Center can get his hands on them at a reasonable price). The problem

is that the brake discs are originally (on the Porsche) 350 x 33 mm in the front

and 330 x 28 mm in the rear.

It might be the stupidest question ever, but; is it possible to drill holes in the

Porsche discs (bolt pattern 5 x 130) to fit the 5 x 114,3 of my Skyline hubs?

Any other solutions/ideas on how to handle this? I've tried finding similar discs

(dimensions) for the Skyline but have come up with no match. Help help : )

Not sure which model you're referring to...

The 996TT came OEM spec'ed with 330MM front and rear. Your best bet is to get custom "hats" made from some place like http://www.colemanracing.com as they can provide the custom offset and proper bolt pattern you need... I'm actually using their setup on my 996TT now with an upgraded vented and slotted rotor, along with a size increase to 350MM.

The POrsche OEM rotors are cross drilled and not a favorite for much beyond street driving, and are VERY expensive if your friend ever quits working at the shop he's at.
