JSM
I picked up this non running CR80 complete for $60.00. I was told it ran good, but who knows. Anything to look for? Good bad? Overall experience with them? Thanks! Looks like this:
Roostmonkey
nice find. I'd put new premix in ( drain any old stuff first ) check for a spark, if no spark, replace the plug and recheck. If it ran well when they stopped using it,fresh gas and plug should do it. jeffer949
Looks in pretty good shape. Change the premix, and i would also clean out the carb. It will be alot easier than the last one you did. There is probably alot of varnish in the bowl and on the jets. if you need some advice give me a call
JSM
That one is not the one I got. I stole the pic as an example. It looks much worse than that!
Jeremy82zx
I would change the oil to. Other than that its a 2 stroke so theres not much that can go wrong.

tcufrogz76
Me too. That would have been my dream come true as a 12 year old... I was 11 when that was a new bike.... I wanted a CR80...Like most kids getting a bike was dependant on grades so I busted butt got straight A's and they bought me a TLR200 Honda Reflex instead--lol (damn it) Friends down the street had a YZ, a CR and a KX 80 (all new '87's) and they took great pleasure in handing me my butt everytime we rode!! But what awesome memories! Good luck with the CR and post some pics of it.. Id love to see the bike that kicked my butt everyday after school for 3 years..lol
JSM
Got $70.00 in it now. Had to buy a trans shift lever. At least now it's out of gear. Compression checked out pretty good 135 PSI. Now I have to figure out why the clutch handle won't disengage the clutch.
Evan Purple240zt
My cousin had a CR80. First bike I had ridden with a power band. Damn near put me on my back! That thing MOVED. I expected a total slouch after riding my enduro 125. Evan
Brother Grim
If the bike sat long enough to quit running, the clutch disks can stick together. We deal with that alot on bikes that sit for a few years. (My brother and I have a bike shop) Most of the time you can get the plates to break loose just by riding it the first time. If not take the clutch cover off and, with a small screwdriver or pick, pry the plates apart. That should do the trick.
