heavy85
Well title says it all. It's my sister in laws Daewoo ... there is a reason they went out of business. I imagine this car will only last another year or two so not expecting significant mileage out of it. The two bent valves cracked the valve guides at the bottom. I'm obviously replacing the valves but how bad would it be to just run with cracked guides? Do I really need to replace them? Thanks Cameron
Hyuri
Just as a note: Daewoo didn't go out of business, they just started selling them under other marques (Chevy Aveo; Pontiac Wave; Suzuki Swift+, Forenza, Reno, and Verona in the US). As for your question: beats me. Off the cuff, I'd say it's a bad idea, but I have nothing to back that up besides a gut feeling.
johnc
I'm obviously replacing the valves but how bad would it be to just run with cracked guides? Cracks don't repair themselves and, in fact, they have a nasty tendency to grow.
