Turbo Meister
There were 2 GTRs on display in front of the Datsun Heritage Museum in Murrieta, for the Grand Opening on Friday the 12 th. A black GTR was the first GTR sold in the U.S. and both of them were brought to the opening by SAGE Nissan of Universal City, from L.A. The parts manager of Sage, looked at my Z, and I asked him if he could impress me with his GTR? I rode 'shotgun' and another guy from our club sat in the rear. We went on a back road and the driver let er rip. The GTR accelerated quite well but I'm used to going even faster. However, the guy in the rear seat kept shouting "OMG...OMG...OMG". But I was totally impressed with the brakes. When we came quickly up on a slow moving vehicle in front of us, I started pounding my foot into the floorboard because the driver was slow to hit the brakes. But there was a tremendous G-force effect with the smooth application of the brakes, more than any other car I've been in. "These brakes work". There were quite a few people at the ribbon cutting and everyone seemed to have a good time. I didn't take any pics but maybe someone else, who was there did and will post them. Hanns

Austin240Z
Cool cool. I bet that ride was fun. I work right across the street from Boost Logic, and I know Marc (their fabricator) and Chris well enough that they dont mind me walking around in the shop so long as I'm not in the way. (I dont know Kean, the owner very well yet though) They've had 3 GTR's over there in the last 2 weeks, and they've already started fabricating parts for them (Here's a vid of two of themhttp://videos.streetfire.net/video/Stock-Y-pipe-vs-Boost-Y_183424.htm) I got to spend about an hour and a half walking around underneath one that was on a lift (I decided "Look but dont touch" was a good policy) It's definately a very very sweet car, but I havent had a chance to go for a ride in one though. Your comment about being impressed with the brakes is definately dead on. I was impressed just looking at them. The rotors are HUGE, they looked to be somewhere around 14", it's got a set of big Brembo 6 Piston Calipers in the front and another set of Brembo 4 Piston Calipers in the rear. Mikelly
There are reports of "stoplight runs" against other cars on other sites and so far, stock for stock, the GTR is cleaning up on some Vettes, Vipers, and porsches... I've not had the pleasure of running against one yet. Mike
