stony Posted February 13, 2002 Share Posted February 13, 2002 Hmmm not sure on the MPH thing but if you open the case there are set of numbers on the ring gear... you just divide the 2 and that gives your rear end gear. if i could remember the numbers id give you an example. just take the cover off and turn the diff with something till you see numbers. i thing there is a / in there somewhere cant remember been a while ; Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Modern Motorsports Ltd Posted February 13, 2002 Share Posted February 13, 2002 4th is 1:1 (ie. 1.0) so use the gear/tranny calculator on this site or others with your tire size and it should nail it down for you...I always like to compare two data point (ie. 3000rpm in 4th is X mph) to be certain. Guest zthang43 Posted February 13, 2002 Share Posted February 13, 2002 I have a 3.56:1 (or something close to that) in my Z, it turns 4000 at 80 in top gear. Sounds like if you have smaller tires you probably have the same gear as me. It seems like the most common one from my experience. I was using 205/60/15's. John Scott Posted February 15, 2002 Share Posted February 15, 2002 Jack one tire up (assuming non limited slip)mark outside of tread or valve stem to some reference on fender. turn tire two complete revolutions and count the driveshaft rotations.
