TrumpetRhapsody
I just ordered everything I need to get Megasquirt going (hopefully), and included one of the 6 3/4" 36-1 trigger wheels. I searched around Hybrid, but didn't see mention of anyone using one on a L6 motor. I was looking at my balancer today, and didn't see anywhere to bolt it on, so I'm wondering if I just wasted $30. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/361-trigger-wheel-p-181.html
jeffer949
why do you need the trigger wheel? why not just use the distributor?
TrumpetRhapsody
I'm going to be running EDIS, which needs a trigger wheel. Probably should've mentioned that. Additionally, I don't have a turbo dizzy with a CAS, so that's not an option either.
Noddle
I done my wheel like this http://noddle.110mb.com/EDIS/index.html but it's not one from diyautotune.com Nigel

Additionally, I don't have a turbo dizzy with a CAS, so that's not an option either. You did mention that in the title. What balancer do you have? I know of at least two different balancers used on the L6, one that came on my '73 that I would assume would be the original balancer and one that was on the '81 ZX. Both have bolt holes that could be used for bolting the EDIS wheel on. The early balancer of mine has two bolt holes 180* apart, while the '81 balancer has 6 bolt holes that were used for a power steering pulley. Did you look at the trigger wheel installation tech articles on DIYautotune? Might shed some light on installing on your engine.
cygnusx1
I just finished my EDIS install using a 280Z pulley. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=136906

TrumpetRhapsody
Looks like tapping into the "meat" is the best way afterall, since the slots could cause the wheel to move and "wobble" with vibration at high rpm. So much for that, lol.
